  • The UK has also been trialling this, and of course the farmers are moaning about it.

Conservationists call beavers "ecosystem engineers" because of how they redesign where they live. The dams they build slow the flow of rivers and streams and create habitats where other creatures can thrive. They've also been credited with reducing flooding further downstream.

the National Farmers Union ... wants culling beavers to be an option if they prove disruptive.

NFU Deputy President David Exwood said that while beavers could provide certain benefits, "we are concerned about the negative impacts beavers can have on productive farmland, as well as the management requirements, costs and risks involved".

  • Hasn't Mars already had its extinction level event when it lost an atmosphere.

many studies suggest that the Martian atmosphere was much thicker in the past

Surely it makes more sense to prevent extinction level events occurring in the first place!

Though I think in general terms humanity living on other planets is a good thing.

  • I've tried all on these except buying another pc ..

option c) Check out protondb to see other users experience with game performance on Steam deck. Sadly it looks like Rocket League has just lost native Linux support. https://www.protondb.com/app/252950

Option D) I have network cables running from pc upstairs to living room (just clipped to the skirting boards and run under rugs) and have used a Pi4 with steam link/moonlight and it works fine. There are some compression artifacts but overall it's hardly noticeable and quite playable.

Option E) Another way was using my Samsung tablet or phone with a usb to hdmi adapter which will mirror the game on the TV and I've used steam link that way (with controller connected to tablet via Bluetooth)

Option A) And just finally to note I also have a TV in the office with the PC and use a 4m long hdmi cable with that sometimes too which works perfectly, though it was hard to find a good quality hdmi cable that worked.

  • I hate to read the daily mail, and can only apologise for linking to it but the story is great.

They kept him in a motel for a week, before letting him visit a store where he contacted someone who contacted his mum, to come rescue him ...

The victim was rescued only when his captors allowed him a brief trip to a nearby Speedway convenience store on March 21, as reported by FOX8.

During the moment of freedom, he managed to make contact with someone who then alerted his mother.

'When he was there, he made contact with an individual, who got in contact with the victim's mother,' Sprow explained.
His mother immediately rushed to the Red Roof Inn to rescue her son, and police were called to the scene.

  • Recently something has changed and the start menu likes to search for apps in its browser (not my default app). I used to press windows key then type "snip" for the screenshot tool, now half of the time is does the wrong thing ...

Also here's a link to post talking about react in the start menu https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=30384494
