1 in 10 flights taking off from UK are private jets
  • The stat is as a percentage, so that could be explained from there being less normal flights rather than a spike of private jet use

  • Two protesters burn Koran in front of Iraqi embassy in Denmark
  • the reason they don’t is because they know they won’t get away with it

What do you mean by "won't get away with it"? Also the article doesn't mention anything about atheism, only 'anti-Muslim', which are obviously two very different things. I'm fairly certain the reason why you see less Bible burnings than Quran burnings in the west is because the west is predominantly Christian, so of course there would be less burning of the Bible, not because of the notion of some atheists of 'getting away with it'.

  • Do you consider the term "rice" or "ricer" to be racist?
  • Taking away the context doesn’t make it any less racist.

How doesn't it? I would argue most people who use the term 'rice' aren't even aware of its origins.

  • What is you backup tool of choice?
  • I just found out about syncthing yesterday and it really is superb, it's so easy to use even crossplatform. unison is another syncing tool that I like, I find it better for bidirectional syncing

  • Meta confirms it is blocking EU-based users from accessing Threads via VPN
  • Probably by just looking at the IP address, either due to the IP addresses of the VPNs being public or by the fact that many users are accessing the service through a single IP address

  • Where do you get your news from?
  • I just tried Google News, but it seems like their interface is designed for mobile even though I'm on a desktop. Like, it doesn't use most of the screen space. But I'm sure on mobile it's a more pleasant experience
