Not sure how no one saw this coming. Every multiplayer game that uses malw- kernel level anti-cheat WILL inevitably be enshittified. This one is a reminder that not even the most beloved of games are safe.

If you don't care about privacy that much, which I assume you don't because you use Twitch, Kick is the only alternative I can recommend. Everything else either is dead, is in another language, or has no good content, which sucks because some of them had good privacy policies. Monopolies are dogshit.

I don't play AAA games, but if I were you I would simply not buy games from big corps who have a long and notorious history of shutting down games. Don't complain about bad business practice when you're rewarding it.
