  • I am so, so very sorry to hear that. That really sucks:-(. I hope that you find something you can live with, or even go straight to something good, if you can find it.:-)

  • Toxic people can also be fun, helpful, and even friendly. They can also be toxic. As too can I. Generally you want to avoid toxic people if you can... but you can't always do that (e.g. your boss, a parent especially if you are still young, etc.).

My advice is to focus more on yourself and your own issues, over which you have maximum control (and also responsibility). e.g. if several people can gaslight you, while nobody else around you is getting gaslit by any of them, then you are the common thread. I'm not trying to blame you to be clear - what do I know? - just offer food for thought (and anyway, it takes two to tango - so part of that would be their responsibility, but part is also yours?).

You can become immune to many forms of toxicity, by identifying those areas inside yourself that need bolstering, and working on them. Like therapy?

But that's tangential to your point. Yeah it's good to identity toxic YouTubers and avoid watching them:-). There are so very MANY red flags. And paying attention to those and avoiding the ones who display them is an example of you taking responsibility for your own mental health and stability - kudos! :-)

  • No, it is only you who are annoyed at this.

    /s 😁

  • But doesn't doing that in Voyager simply apply the base Lemmy instance block? If so then it merely mutes communities from it, but doesn't block users from the instance from posting, commenting, responding, sending DMs, etc.

It's not nothing, but it falls far short of expectations, especially for something called by that name.

  • The two extremes seem more similar to each other than most people seem to want to admit - to me anyway. But I respect anyone's opinion to not see it that way.

More to the point, having changed my own beliefs multiple times throughout life, I suppose I just see others who are still on some "other side" as being more like me, or at least past me. We are all just wrong in different ways.

Yes, I get that people are going to die. Even so.

  • If you find it, feel free to cross-post this there.

  • I believe you are mistaken, as that one is actually Transformation, since it fundamentally and irreversibly alters the properties of the recipient substance!:-)

    Edit:

  • PieFed has some interesting thoughts along these lines.

I actively expect to never see such a thing in Lemmy though.

  • Thank you - Reddit is one of the major sources of easily findable images on the internet (like gliffy and imgur etc.), so it would be good to have those links work.

And regardless the Preview feature showing differently than ends up being rendered is definitely the biggest issue IMHO. It's hard to balance all of the various factors though, I do get that!:-P

  • Bold to presume that we would want to survive it.

Fwiw Musk says that he wants to leave Earth and go to Mars, which is great news for the rest of us:-).

  • (written in fortune cookie style): You who find the hidden meaning behind all things, keep digging to discover your treasure!

  • Something that I discovered last week is that the "preview" feature may show the image but then later when the proxy gets added then the image no longer renders.

Testing with the same one from then (it renders correctly with Preview):

Edit: yup, and sure enough it still breaks after the proxy is added. I hope this report helps!:-)

  • Woot!
