How is the prom experience for everyone?
  • I didn't go, I didn't see the point in it. People always ask if I regret not going: not even a little bit. I don't like dancing and thought the entire idea of it dumb to begin with. Also, I'd rather not go broke over one night like that. I did have a few friends go and they said they had fun, good for them. It's just not my thing.

  • A Huge Number of Homeowners Have Mortgage Rates Too Good to Give Up
  • My wife and I were lucky enough to be able to purchase a home at a decent rate and then refinance a few years later to an even better rate (around 3.5%). We bought in 2019, when the world was still somewhat sane. The thought of trying to sell and get a new home at the higher rate makes me sick to my stomach and I feel bad for my brother-in-law.

  • HP says I should have known its £399 laptop bargain was too good to be true
  • I was working on one of my users desktops (adding RAM). The machine wasn't recognizing all of it. I eventually cave and call tech support. Their solution was to not use all of the RAM slots. I called up the next day and got a competent person to replace the board, but pretty much all calls were like that.

  • Anybody Else Heard of Death to Smoochy (2002)?
  • I remember news stories when the movie came out; parents were taking their kids to the movie because they didn't understand what it was about. I thought the R rating would have been enough.
