Biden is walking back on $2000 checks

"Biden is walking back on X" is going to be the headline weekly for the next 4 years.
He'll do some tax cuts for the rich and that's about it

- I think they'll just re-up the trump tax cuts not cut them even more.
  But, it's totally possible they just stop fucking pretending at all.

$2000? What do you need $1400 for? In my day, $600 was all you needed
- the other day my dad showed me his college credits from the mid 80s (texas/california). A university class was literally ten dollars, which is $20-$30 today.

Even 2k was a fucking pittance, we should've gotten 2k a month backdated to march like every other industrialized country in the world
- we're not really getting anything, but i also live in a socdem country so we don't need it as desperately as Americans impacted by covid. However the state pays most of the compensation for reduced work hours which totals >90% of full pay and they increased welfare for households with children. Should we be asking for checks?

I'm confused. Upping the $600 to $2000 is a net gain of $1400. I've already got the $600 deposited into my bank account. So getting a further $1400 seems right? Maybe I'm a lib but the math checks out.
- It's because Biden and then the GA run off senators ran on $2000 checks. Which, $600 is nice, and most people can do arithmetic, but $1400 more isn't a $2000 check. So just on that apparent ambiguity and then underwhelming resolution, Democrats are muy dumb. But even then, considering what the other industrialized nations have done, an additional $2000 check feels like the bare minimum. So basically, hot take is that the Democrats are going to get absolutely annihilated for blunders like this in 2022.

This is what I always thought they meant by this. That being said, $1400 is not enough for millions of desperate Americans. Also I doubt we're gonna get even the $1400 checks without some serious ghoul shit attached to it.
