Why are people trying so hard to get Taylor Swift lumped in with those other goons? Yea ok she has high ticket prices but at least she has a real job. The rest are actively trying to destroy democracy and the working class.
She's a woman. It's just misogyny. She actually does her best to make sure the folks who work for her are taken care of.
The fact that all the wealthiest in the world are mostly awkward straight white dudes who don't give a fuck about anyone but themselves probably hits too close to home.
She actually does her best to make sure the folks who work for her are taken care of.
Back when the directors and actors and everyone else in Hollywood was on strike, she got her movie made. She did it by the simple expedient of getting everyone together in one roomn and asking "What do you want?" They gave her their lists, she looked the lists over and said, "Great, you got it! Let's sign this thing and get to work!", and they did.
Do you have ANY idea how many celebrities do the same? How many CEOs?
People are clamoring on this one thing about her because she's a woman and she's wealthy. I couldn't give two shits about TS, but I can see when people are trying to have SOMETHING on her, when there is nothing really there.
The people I find who act like TS is singlehandedly causing climate change, are also people who actually don't give AF about climate change.
I just didn't say you were wrong. I say other people DO private jets, are far older than her and have been using them for far longer, and that on the list of folks who are destroying our planet and eating up resources, I really don't think she compares. People just latch on her because she's a wealthy woman.
Tbh, I think we're agreeing but saying it differently. Sorry if I'm coming across harsh at you, but I'm not actually complaining about what YOU said. Mostly venting just to vent by pigging backing off your comment.
My wife hung out with her for the day as part of her job. Her mother was a bitch—my wife accidentally tripped Taylor over and the mother lost it—but Taylor was super nice. They were friends by the end of the day and swapped numbers, but neither ever reached out haha.
This was before she got super famous and was just some young country singer. I dunno if she's still the same but I don't see why not.
I don't like her music, but that's just music preferences and not a reflection on her. I have no issues with her as a human being.
I think some of it may be the generic "billionaires are bad." But there are many, many better examples to choose from. She is just a bigger name, more well known than many of them.
She supported Harris. A vast majority, if not all of these "look at Isreal and Palestine" posts are an attempt to siphon votes away from Harris and improve Trump's odds of winning the election.
Da, Boris, to influence the election we must post on the federated reddit alternative with all the trekkies and Linux nerds and communists. Reddit? Noooo. Too many people. Twitter? Are you high? We need to go where the action is.
There's also a lot of that activity on Twitter and Reddit. Sometimes not by obvious Russian trolls, but by people not directly affected by the US elections. It's yet another question, what they'll do, once Trump gives Russia what it wants (thus will be drunk on power and want even more), or "sets new standards in human rights" (anti-LGBTQ+ laws, outlawing no fault divorce, etc.).
Yeah 1, 2, and 4 are easy lever flicks, 3’s a bastard but I would be on the fence about the lever flick and 5 is even less “objectively deserves to feel the consequences of their actions” though no one with that much net worth is particularly easy to be sympathetic to.
He did shitty/shady business stuff as CEO of Microsoft. He’s got suspicious ties to Epstein. His philanthropy is good and all but overall he’s still a greedy wealth hoarder.
I think he said multiple times that he found it very hard to spend his money (for good things) faster than he's still earning it. He was the poster boy for capitalism in the booming tech market when it happened (with all the shitty business practices you can think of), but after he left Microsoft, he's been doing good things and trying to throw as much money as possible on it. He's at a level where his wealth hoarding happens on its own, even if he's not greedy for money. He's not trying to hoard it, he's part of the group of billionaires who keep saying they need to be taxed more.
Tankie cred. There’s nothing like casually talking about guillotining Taytay to let people know in no uncertain terms that you’re definitely no bourgeois liberal electoralist. It’s the 2020s equivalent of declaring how enthusiastically and unflinchingly you’d have bayoneted the Romanov children.
It kinda came out like chili powder added to a fruit smoothie. Spice is fine when based in truth but this kinda just comes across as trying to dilute the issue.
