I get the impression that very few political decisions in Poland are made without say so from the US. The fact that Poland is all of a sudden cooling off on supporting Ukraine almost certainly coincides with US decision to wind down the war.
As I've read through this article, I feel like USA just abstained from judging Poland, instead of supporting it. I may be wrong
Poland is violating EU decision by this though, US clearly said it's Poland right, so this is a sign of support for Poland against EU, consistent with longstanding US politics of sowing division in the EU.
