Guilt leads to growth.
Immigrants are also statistically more likely to stop and help people. The conservatives always act like immigrants are criminals, but they're less likely to commit violent crimes than the average American and also more likely to help people when they're in need.
There's probably a correlation between people who think that immigration in a country that was literally founded by immigrants and forcefully taken away from the real natives; and people who lack any real empathy for others.
