Whew, got one! It really frustrated me to see that it said the items in my cart were out of stock after I had been struggling to purchase for the past half hour. Glad I tried again after a few minutes.
Yeah, since they're still in stock I'm considering cancelling my current order and getting one of the LE ones instead, I'm just not sure it's worth the trouble tbh. The main reason why I could see it being worth it is if I decided that I wanted to sell it again later; because the LEs will probably retain their value better.
Plus I do still have it in my cart, maybe that means I have one reserved? . Some people were saying that they were seeing a 'join waitlist' type message, dunno if that was for the special edition or not tho.
Edit: Heh, I got that last go around, but still manged to get a Q4 2021/Q1 2022 order in eventually.
Looks like they have decent stock of the normal editions at least. Got mine after about 20 minutes and even now it still says shipping in 3-5 days for new orders. With the original Deck launch, people would probably be in like wave 3 at this point.
I tried to buy the LE on launch day, and couldn't get through the payment page. When it was listed as sold out, I bought a regular deck without much difficulty.
Then I saw the LE was available again, and decided to try to buy it again. I was planning to cancel my original order if I could get the LE.
I tried to check out dozens of times over the next 24 hours, but on the final page I kept getting the "something went wrong" error.
About an hour ago, I decided to cancel my original order (you can do this by requesting a refund on the order page). The refund was issued 15 minutes later.
I went back and tried to order the LE again, 30 minutes after the refund was confirmed. Went through on the very first try.
So from my limited experience, I think Steam might be blocking all LE orders (and maybe even regular deck orders?) if you already have an active order.
I didn't even get that far, I only got as far as clicking "Purchase for myself" before getting the 502 error ^. Now I can only sometimes get a login screen after clicking that/refreshing the checkout page, which always results in an error itself.
I just kept going back and trying to click that button every time it failed. It eventually went through. On the shipping details screen, it's the same thing. And then the same when choosing a Payment Method. It's that final screen where you confirm everything that has only one chance to work or you'll have to go through everything again.
We were able to get the LE after more than 20 minutes of trying. I had it on cart on web and the desktop app, the desktop app gave an error while trying to process the payment which put me all the way back to the cart but the web window was able to process it!
