Am I the only one who thinks tardigrades are cute?
Pretty sure that’s a universal opinion.
I have one of these at home.
41 4 ReplyThat makes me happy, those plushies are so cute! I showed the post pic to two people and both said "Ew," I think their cuteness detector is broken.

With a body like a vacuum cleaner bag & face that looks like a jacuzzi jet, they’re about as adorable as they come!
22 1 ReplyThat's a really spot-on description.

I like how they're wrapped in paper
12 0 ReplyThat's probably an artefact of the electron microscopy preparation. Irl they're translucent and they're even cuter when they move: https://www.shutterstock.com/cs/video/clip-1039663166-tardigrade-high-quality-footage-video-water-bear

8 0 ReplyPut a hard hat on a star-nosed mole instead.. It may not be as useful as a robot, but it will look like it knows what it's doing.

Nope. My neighbor is a tardigrade expert in fact. Retired Marine Biologist Professor.
6 0 ReplyDo they have a bunch of tardigrades at home? Or marine life in general?
3 0 ReplyNope. They are retired and spend lots of vacation time in Cabo. Used to be avid scuba divers.

It's wild that the folds in their "skin" seem to have genuine creases even.
