Fedora, a mature desktop Linux, will be available by the end of the month on your Apple M1 or M2 Macs.

Man, if Linux actually runs on Macbooks without problems I'll probably get one as my next laptop. I'm getting tired of loud fans and poor battery life on all these x86 laptops.
- Flashback to 2008 when I wanted a portable PC to play TF2 and WoW and LAN parties. I looked around and all gaming laptops were like 18lbs, had 1.5 hour battery life, and were insanely loud.
  
  Bought a 15” MacBook Pro. Installed Windows on it. Tiny, 5lb machine that’s almost always silent. Dedicated GPU. Better processor than any PC laptop.
  
  Only problem was, it was like 2k moneys.

It sucks that apple solder everything on their laptops. I want to get one.
- Yeah. We can only hope that one day Framework will give us the blessing of an ARM-based laptop with foss firmware.

  Yup. I just can't buy a machine that has nothing repairable/replaceable on it.
It’s attractive if you already have an Apple product lying around. Otherwise I’d just avoid that brand or get a second hand one..
M powered iPads too!?
- I doubt it - the bootloader is very different on iPads and I don't think it would let you boot a different OS
