Sony and Microsoft are just gunna' be rent-seeking hardware gatekeepers so they don't have to take any risks making games they can let a sea of AA and indie devs take all the risk while Sony/Microsoft collect their tolls.
Might be true of sony but I think microsoft might pull out of the hardware market, they seem to be placing their bets on gamepass.
Honestly, that would be kind of hilarious
