Really cool, but just not what OPs headline says
One of my worst pet peeves is people claiming renders from scientific data are the same as a photograph. Amazing how I figured it out in highschool and I'm still seeing headlines banking on this misconception.
A digital photograph is also a render from data, change my mind.
And inside is a single planet that defies logic, and on that planet is God with a capital G. He wants a starship to escape the planet and can be killed by a few photon torpedoes.
This is the coolest thing I'm gonna see/read all day.

Didn’t someone already do this a few years ago? Wouldn’t this be the second clear image?
The first image was of radio signals so not exactly "light" as we'd think of it typically. This is supposedly polarized light so technically an "actual image" in the way we think of pictures involving light.

I think you might be thinking of a different black hole. This one is in our galaxy, the first one imaged was in m87. The one in our galaxy is actually harder to "see" as there is stuff in the way.
There were two one was m87, and I'm sure the other one was Sagittarius A*
