If I could be totally honest, I would like at some point in my life to have a blue banana and maybe one of those Japanese square melons (or just make one myself). There's a lot of obscure produce (even in places like the Midwest) that are honestly worth praise.
I miss "grapples" I don't know if anyone else remembers those, but they were apples that tasted like grape soda. They came in a 4-pack and I loved them as a kid. Haven't seen them anywhere since.
Decolonization is happening. America is less able to flex it's muscles and get cheap products from the Global south. The death throes of capitalism are in progress.
