International Criminal Court chief prosecutor seeks arrest warrants for Israeli PM and Hamas leaders
The International Criminal Court chief prosecutor says he believes Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defence Minister Yoav Gallant and three Hamas leaders are responsible for war crimes and crimes against humanity in the Gaza Strip and Israel.
This should be put in the Uplifting news sub, as it is a sign that still there are independent investigations and people are held accountable no matter how powerful they are.
Its PR until someone is actually in jail for life.
It is not only PR. This will restrict considerably the ability of Netanyahu and Gallant to travel abroad. Because every country that is members of the ICC should theoretically arrest them on arrival and would not allow their planes to fly over their territories.
Israel and the US are not signatories and they don't recognise those rulings, guess why. Because both countries are acting with such a sense of impunity that it is absolutely disgusting, when they think they are above the law and those laws don't apply to them.
Cue the US lobbying against this in the background, as they send bombs to the genocidal attackers and aid to the people they are bombing.
