Hi I'm pretty bored and just wanna talk or make friends with some online randos feel free to DM .
Edit : Just to clear up some shit I do have IRL friends its just that moving around coupled with the fact that I don't have Instagram or Snapchat has made me lose a lot of contacts and the ones that are left aren't always available which is quite understandable as we all have our own shit to deal with and sometimes when their free I'm not etc .
There are no respectable chatroom anywhere on the internet that I can find (I have not checked discord which is said to have some but I'm not going to check it and I'm not hopeful as it is the only place I haven't checked yet.).
My interests are just movies and TV, music etc but we can talk about anything . Don't DM if your a creep or some shit .I didn't know where else to post this and hope it is OK I'm just tired of the forum format and wanna have a more connected conversation . That's about it .
Like its not even easy to make friends on Lemmy we just have fun in a thread and move on like each experience or fun we had is in a capsule and can't get out of it . Its true for real life too I guess we meet people become friends and then move on because life gets and then you look back and see they were always temporary and was there because you and they were there at the same place at the same time and was never meant to be . like how 99% of people replying and I will not be in touch when this post becomes 2 days old .
Idk why I wrote the last sentence out maybe because I moved to another state and had some friends in the flat I lived and now that I have moved back (we all split to our own state after the study I was the last one to reach there I only stayed there for two months while there were there for 9 months or so) we have minimal to no contacts .
Yes but it is kinda hard to make friend in a place like Lemmy as we just talk under a post and leave . That's why I made a post like this .
Last one was Sicario 2 and it was kind of a let down from 1 . Tho there are some redeeming qualities I wouldn't watch it again or something as it was not at all like sicario imo .
That's the thing about social media, it's not actually social. All we do here is entertain eachother a bit by posting stuff, but we will never get to know eachother.
You need real life friends or it all feels very empty. People spend like 10 hours on YouTube watching people they think are great but they will never see who that person actually is.
You enter a dimly lit cavern and come across a mysterious hooded figure. Without warning he throws back his hood and draws a massive curved sword. Roll for initiative.
I might. Creeping through your comment history doesn't reveal any red flags, so here's the next test:
What's your most controversial opinion?
Derp, it's you. We're already in the same matrix chat, lol.
How about we start that public CasualConversation chat I suggested a while back? I was going to take the initiative on that one, but then I... uh.. didn't.
Ask an open ended question about something and stick around in the responses. You don't have to ask and leave, and some people might stick around for a while. All you say here is not just movies and TV, but what do you actually want to talk about? Technology, art, puzzles, gaming, entertainment...
Another reply as a public conversation starter: I find that most modern movies are too formulaic and predictable. What are your suggestions for movies that really aren't?
It helps me to focus on the things a movie does right, even if other parts are lackluster. For example the Star Wars sequels were abysmal in terms of dialogue and plot development, but the music and choreography was amazing.
Modern ones ? Probably some A24 ones but they are just so and so and not something I would recommend as must watch or anything but they do tend to get not formulaic . Unpredictable ? I would need some time to think lol.
Not sure how you feel about animation, but Hayao Miyazaki's movies usually stray from some of the usual Hollywood tropes and cliches, especially the pacing.
Speaking of making a lasting connection, lately I've been thinking about taking up pen pal-ing (I guess we just call that letter writing) again. But I just really like stationary and reading and writing off of paper
