Todd Howard: 'We Don't Need to Rush' Next Fallout Game
  • Which is neither fallout or elder scrolls. I played starfield to it's completion. It was fine. Nothing more than a 7/10. Had a lot to work on.

But I don't get the fallout 4 hate. With a few mods and shutting up the protagonist, the game was more than enjoyable.

  • The other said what needed to be said. Do you talk to anyone the way you do? You do realize you're talking to real people with real life experiences. And if you used any critical thought you'd understand the innocence of using the word "fricken" or "friggen" in my comment was to illustrate that in our child community growing up, we used the retard word along with that. And it was almost never used to call someone that, it was used to call a situation that. Like "that's retarded let's not do that".

And yeah I don't use that word anymore as an adult.

  • Is saying the word retarded without calling some it disrespectful? Is it now a trigger word? I'm genuinely wondering. Because when we were growing up we used the word EVERYWHERE. It was as common as saying "fricken"

  • Got a Bambu P1S but the build are low quality
  • Wow I would have went through so much trouble trying to figure out my problems before stumbling on moisture problems. Especially since I'm printing in my garage.

Thank you so much for bringing this to my attention before I ran into many problems. I didn't even think about how I'm going to store all my filament. I was just going to go loose on the bottom of my table in a container.

It's interesting that the instructions for preparing the AMS had me take out the dessicant from the 2 trays in the roller area. I was wondering what the point of these being empty was. I'll fill that with back up with dessicant.

  • Oh wow yeah that sounds like a hand full. Health becomes a problem for us. If one of us gets sick for a few days it gets pretty rough. We don't have too much time to go out, and my wife and I haven't really went on too many dates since our 3rd was born. But we're both on the same page that it's part of the season we're in. I'm busy maybe 3 days a week and that already makes it rough, but I can't imagine if my week was full of appointments.

Don't worry about being too clean for the kids. The first one is always going to be the learning curve, and we've been there with the ultra clean everything. Germs and chokeables. Now on our 3rd we're a lot more lax, being more observant when it's necessary. But you will drive yourself crazy picking every speck off the ground lol.

But ultimately my wife and I are a team. And if there's anything that becomes too hard for us it's because we weren't on the same page about it. Life moves forward. Children are the best thing that ever happened to us. And our hobbies didn't disappear, we got new ones and old ones either aren't interesting anymore or adapted to fit. You'll never be 100% ready. If you and your partner want children, let that child grow with you.

  • I was using structural filament, used for breaking prints apart. Once I switched to the regular PLA everything went fine.

I'm not sure about a filament dryer. I'm sure the P1S comes with something robust.

  • I'm full time (40 hours) and my wife is a stay at home mom. She might work in the summer for delta airlines as a gate agent but that's if the season allows for it. Either way that income is less than $5k for the year so it's not for the money, but the flight benefits.

The home being clean... Well we let a lot of things get surface dirty because cleaning after the kids is a full time job in and of itself. We'll deep clean once a week, dishes are cleaned right away, toys after you're done, beds, sheets, carpets and deep floor weekly. We got a system. My wife does an amazing job. I make sure our vacuums work lol.

  • Thank you so much for this information! Sorry I respond so late. Its been very busy and I haven't had time to get on lemmy.

Before I read this I went ahead and booted up bluebeam studio and got familiar with it. Did some research and got a high temp plate just in case the PEI standard plate the machine came with won't work with PLA+/PETG. I'll eventually want to be able to print robust parts as components.

Then I used up my ebay gift cards and got esun and sunlu on huge sales (there's like 3 different discounts going right now). Got 17 PLA spools in all sorts of colors including wood, marble and even 2 glow in the dark ones (red and blue) for less than $200. 1kg. I don't think they're cheap, since regular price averaged around $20/spool, 30 for the glow ones.

I won't use structure either. I heard it's not necessary. I'm doing my first custom build (kind of, just modified off an existing build) of couple deck cases with the orange/green I have. I already did a couple other runs on the green and that solved the issue with fuzzy cheap builds. I was using the wrong filament. So now I'm excited what I can come up with!

Thank you for setting me on the right path.

  • Father of 3 kids under 6, I still play an hour or so a day, some weekends I get a night to play with friends.

And I have time for work in commercial electrician. Come home to work on my garden, chickens, greenhouse, and hang with the kids and family.

Going to be doing my own solar in the next week or two. Tonight going to a mtg mh3 event with a friend to play some magic.

All weekend to chill with my children, wife, and enjoy some parks. Once kids are asleep I'll watch a movie with my wife.

Life is good. Time for everything.

  • Got a Bambu P1S but the build are low quality
  • Wow thank you. I'm home now, and I'll swap the white one out for one of the other ones and see how that fares in making a print or 2. What do I do with the white one? Put it in the last slot? Does the machine know when to use the white one as a support?

What would you consider is your favorite filament to work with? I'm thinking of splurging on a set off ebay. But at the same time, are discount filaments ok?

And do you use a special plate? People have mentioned golden ones that are easier to bend to pop out the build? Mine just scraped off fairly easy. And I've read to use hairspray or windex to make it easier to pop off later.

I'm sorry I'm asking a lot. I get a hang of things pretty quickly haha, so once I'm going on a system of what to buy and how to install it I'll be good to go.

  • Southern Baptists are poised to ban churches with women pastors. Some are urging them to reconsider
  • I agree that it doesn't make sense. There was nothing in Jesus's gospel that would imply such standards to take place in the church. It's even written that there is no man or woman, but all are followers of Christ. Equality.

  • Southern Baptists are poised to ban churches with women pastors. Some are urging them to reconsider
  • Yes. This. What was considered clean and unclean to eat was amended in Peter's vision in acts 10. So was clothing and much else of levitical law during jesus' gospel.

Even Paul's writings about women speaking above men needs to take into context that the church in Ephesus (modern day turkey) was led by young Timothy. The theme was pretty strict to reestablish a baseline of roles and law to apply to Ephesus, which was seen as very immoral, murderous and rebellious. I mean Paul says people should stay celibate and not marry because this can complicate a person's relationship with God.

Without going too deep, no, this doesn't mean women shouldn't teach because "god" demands women to be inferior/subjugated.

If that was so why did God use women as prophets and leaders?

  • Got a Bambu P1S but the build are low quality

Hey guys I got the bambu P1S a couple months ago because it was recommended. I'm super new to 3d printing. This is my first one. I'm not new to electronics or computers. I ran a few of the built in prints, a dinosaur puzzle and this scraping tool but both came out fuzzy and in poor build shape. What can cause this? Shaky table? Cold temps (the printer is in my insulated garage getting around 65 degrees at the moment inside)? Is the stock bed bad? The filament it came with bad?

    Thanks for any advice. !

Is it worth the solar panels I'm getting?

I'm sorry for posting this here. There isn't a solar panel instance, nor did I see anything for electricians. I know there's been a lot of gripe with certain solar companies (solgen being in litigation, and others) but I didn't hear much about freedom forever, since they're new to Seattle area where I'm doing this. Reddit seems to hate this company. But the price seems alright. I'm paying $22k for 7.4kw but getting it down to 15k after the state stipend. Less than $3 a watt which I'm guessing is really good. I'm planning to pay it off in 2 or 3 years. Not the full 25 which will cost me so much more. Can anyone point me in the right direction and if I'm making the right decision?

    Is my peach tree dead?

I'm not sure what happened but my peach tree isn't getting leaves. The branches on the end are brittle but I did a little cut on the tree bark on the trunk and it was green under so I don't think she's dead. I'm not sure what may have caused this. I thought at first it was because she didn't get enough chill hours but we got over 1000 hours here in Seattle area.

Adding TV to bedroom without using mainstream smart device

Sorry if this the wrong place, I couldn't find an HTPC, home theater, techsupport, or equivalent instance to ask.

The gist is I want to add a TV to my master bedroom for my wife to just browse the web, and for my kids to have something to watch in the mornings while my wife gets out of bed. I have a main pc in my theater room for gaming, and an HTPC on projector for movies and stuff. I don't want to get a roku or any mainstream smart device, but I'm OK with getting something like a raspberry pi (never done this) to have an air mouse hooked up to the TV so my wife can browse the web, open YouTube, Netflix, steam books, Spotify, as well as access my pc library of content for viewing. Not for gaming. Everything I'm finding online is people connecting their pc to their TV and it's always for gaming. I don't need large processing, just enough to watch things, while connecting to my home computers.

    Thank you.
