This is the most bizarre and dystopian threat.

Meanwhile, while this stupid diplomatic theater is playing, people are dying. It really is rather shocking.

Even if vaccines sometimes caused autism, the immense good they've been bringing for many decades to the human species would largely outweigh the risk.

What the anti-vaxxers are doing is akin to trying to convince people to give up electricity because some people get electrocuted sometimes.

Probably some tankie administrator of one community read your comment in another and decided to preemptively ban you. I'm banned from multiple tankie communities I've never even set foot in myself. Not that I care 🙂

The solution is: when you get banned for no good reason, block the community - or the entire instance in extreme cases of craziness like Hexbear or Lemmygrad. Then it disappears from your Lemmy experience entirely and you never need be frustrated ever again.

What I find most amazing in recent times - not just the Trump years, but mostly - is that cheating, lying, grifting, flip-flopping, selling out, corruption and doing and saying any abjectly immoral thing is completely normalized and done in the open.

Rectitude and decency have been militantly and proudly abandoned, and dirtbags are totally happy to show their true ugly selves in full view of everybody. They don't even make the effort to pretend they have any moral standards anymore. And somehow they're allowed to remain part of society...

I said goodbye to the internet as I knew it decades ago when the first ad reared its ugly head on a website. It's been pretty much a turd getting stinkier every year since then.

Of course, the AI sumbitches probably scrape Lemmy for content too like they scrape everything for content. But at least Lemmy doesn't give them my content on a platter, nicely packaged up and ready to exploit and monetize. They have to do the scraping.
