Isn’t that exactly what I said?
I said people “pretend” he didn’t do it. Not they “believe” it.
The point is a sort of doublethink.
Where in private you celebrate Luigi for what we think he did. But in Public we pretend he didn’t do it to help create a narrative to protect him from the police state.
Feel free to post. Lemmy definitely needs more people contributing.
Yes it is ironic. But even if ppl voted and we got the democrats. There’s still lots to do. The dems are still neoliberals who prioritise the wealth of the few over the lives of the many. They are just a little more moderated than the republicans at that.
So if you vote Dem and think “I’ve done all I can” you’re also part of the problem. Lasting serious change requires radical collective action. Voting isn’t enough. It’s just a tiny thing you should do aswell. The bulk of the effort stands outside it.
Voting is not how we get liberation. It’s how we occasionally slow down the machine that crushes people.

Yet they said COVID would strengthen our immune system lol. Instead we got millions of people disabled with long COVID with weakened immune response.
Forumverse makes the most sense but it really doesn’t roll of the tounge.
Hence I prefer Lemmyverse or Threadiverse.
Prime list of people to oust in the primaries
What’s funny is in practice the government spends more money subsidising vehicle fuels than they earn from taxes on the fuel.
That’s the result of cars being the global default.
100 years ago you had loads of routes that were only accessible by rail, not road.
Not just Whales
Dolphins, Sea Snakes, Sea Turtles, Manatees etc.
50 million years ago four legged hoofed land mammals that are closely related to hippos eventually evolved to spend more and more time in the sea which led to whales, dolphins, porpoises etc.
They have also caused the ecrevisse à pattes blanches (the native european one) to go near extinct.
Lithuania to strip residence permits of Russian, Belarusian citizens who frequently travel back home
Same. I’m in western europe, I have a couple friends who are Russian and oppose the invasion.
The male ones haven’t gone back to see their family because they fear conscription.
Those who can go back to see family are super cautious and scared because they don’t wanna be sent to gulag.
It’d be a shame if they got another barrier to going home they had to worry about.
“Good luck crossing the local creek or any wooded area.
Also, aren’t you the guy alway mumbling that you’d shoot someone who goes into your property. Good luck finding a driving route without going through anyone’s property.”
We often call them MAMILs (Middle Aged Men In Lycra)
Yeah. It’s kind of ignorant to expect the same fine for say a disabled person unable to work who scrapes by on 900 euros a month vs a super wealthy person on 500k euros a year.
Fines shouldn’t really exist anyways. When for one person they’re a random expense that doesn’t even bat an eye vs for another person it means no food for a week.
Even progressive fines are unfair. In that for someone who barely affords food every week losing 2% of your monthly income is devastating. While for a rich person they won’t even notice losing 2% of their income.

Who’s the Fonz?
Fuck me man. I hate to say it, I’ve always leaned pacifist, but the more I learn about the neoliberal corporcratic system we live in, the more I think guillotines might be the only way out.
Not everyone is a 15-55 year old able bodied person.
A good chunk of the population is disabled and mobility impaired. Large swaths of the population are elderly.
Might be easier to catch if its literally gnawing at you and attacking you.
Too many children with long COVID are suffering in silence. Their greatest challenge? The myth that the virus is 'harmless' for kids
