ICC Orders Arrest of Russian Officials Accused of Directing Attacks on Civilians | Common Dreams
  • Targetting electrical infrastructure is technically a warcrime, and the persistent targeting of the grid in Kharkiv this year with intent to slowly depopulate the city is probably the first real war crime the Russians have been responsible for in the war so far.

ICC have solid jurisdiction because Russians haven't been white since 2022.

  • Putin addresses Ukraine with Russia’s first public ceasefire proposal: Ukraine must withdraw troops from DPR, LPR, Kherson, Zaporozhye regions+notify NATO it will not move forward with alliance talks.
  • Ukraine and their backers aren't capable of agreeing to this, they're just too deep in the fantasy. The only reason I can think of for making this declaration again, which is really just a call for Ukraine to recognize the current reality of the situation, is for posterity.

A last off ramp before the Russians commit more and then demand more for resolution. It could only be a matter of time before Russia insists on Kharkiv oblast as a response to the terror bombing of civilians in Belgorod.

  • Azov was fed fresh fit ideologically charged recruits to bring the numbers back up.

Young fit recruits who are below the conscription age and join up willingly are too valuable to send to the meatgrinder units that convert 27-60 year old males into fertilizer. Instead, they are sent to more bespoke units like Azov.

  • I am genuinely confused by hexbear's opinion on the Ukraine war - Lemmy.World
  • Good thing there's a pretty standard set of trope copes.

"Ukraine is too corrupt and wasted our western wunderwaffe", or maybe, "Ukraine kept defaulting to their own tactics instead of using western training because the slavic brainpan is simply incapable of superior angloid warfare" or hell, lets go with a classic for the bitter Ukrainian nazi's if there are still enough alive to have a say "our jewish leadership hamstrung us" -- something in line with the typical satanically racist "garden" thinking.

The kind of narrative that lets them slip on by without considering whether or not they were lied to, or the stability of high GDP economies that don't actually manufacture anything except consent.

  • Hello fellow bots of hexbear.

I love that they're confused that other groups like hexbear can have such a different but cohesive narrative of events. A big thanks to 72T for their work on the news mega the past couple of years. I can't express how much it means to me to have a sane space on the internet for people to analyse propaganda and stenography from both sides and cut to the consistent truth and motives.

Liberals also seem to struggle with the idea of trying to understand something and it's impacts without treating it like a sports team.

  • The panic is starting as the reality that the war is lost sets in
  • The RAND Corporation study that was used as the template for America's war in Ukraine specifically outlines the scenario where Russia reindustralises and wins. The conclusion is: this is unlikely, but would be catastrophic.

  • We love our cishet Hexbears.

It's pride month and I want cishet hexbears to know we love them just as much as regular people.

US Abrams tanks failing in Ukraine as Russia mocks them as ‘empty tin cans’
  • The classified natoid armour was removed from frontal aspects that are designed to defeat APFSDS rounds in tank vs tank combat. Meanwhile, Russian drones are hitting spots that never had that armour in the first place by going for weakspots like the roof or the poorly protected ammo compartment at the back of the turret.

Even if these tanks were rolling around with their original armour, it wouldn't have saved any of the tanks that have been defeated so far. peltier-laugh

  • It's noteworthy they've called this on a Scottish school holiday. It indicates they're worried about a Labour resurgence in Scotland taking seats from the currently weak Scottish National Party (known on hexbear for attempting things like the Gender Reform Bill)

  • UK to introduce new offence of causing death or injury by dangerous cycling
  • Not too terrible?

UK has been changing laws in the past few years so that bikes must be fully considered legitimate traffic by other drivers. It makes sense to increase the expectations on cyclists to actually act and have the same responsibilities as traffic too, rather than a weird hybrid. All of this is in lieu of just creating decent cycle infrastructure, which the UK is no longer capable of doing since it's a developing nation larping as an imperial power.
