geef me een klap papa
They're some of my favorite games, but there's no reason to force yourself to play them. I like that the combat is still the classic simple JRPG format. It's satisfying to just run around and check every drawer, closet, and cupboard in a new town. They're structured so you can play for like 30 minutes a day and always feel like you made some progress.
5g didn't bring the widespread adoption of everything being connected that it was sold as, but it's way faster than 4g and definitely worth it.
Marxism-Linenism
I could potentially see doing it for printing but I genuinely can't think of any other reason.

The political compass is not theory.
You're saying I bought a whole stack of scantrons for nothing?
The early Red Menace episodes from RevLeft Radio that are meant to be companion pieces to some of the shorter foundational pieces of theory helped me out a lot when I was just starting to read theory:

I would do the reading and then listen to the episode and it really gave me confidence that I was actually understanding what I was reading.
I've read all three volumes of Capital, and I can confidently say reading it is something you should do eventually, but it would be counter productive to read it without already having a fairly good understanding of most of it's core concepts and having built up a tolerance for dry, difficult reading. Starting with it is the theory equivalent of trying to read Ulysses as your first novel or playing battletoads as your first videogame.
Also, I've talked to people who haven't read it in its entirety but definetly understand it better than I do.
There is a new translation of it into English that just came out that's supposed to be a lot easier to understand but I personally haven't checked it out yet.
A lot of people here have read theory, but also a lot of have not. Both categories will tell you to read theory. The point is more telling people to not argue out of their ass and be knowledgeable.
Mario may have laid the ground work but the genre didn't really solidify until the release of Castlevania 64 added 3 crucial elements:
- Not knowing where to go because every environment in the game looks the same
- Bullshit fights where you just spam the same attack and dodge
- Spooky
Because of this I prefer to call the genre mariovanias
That middle one reminds me of a bumper sticker I saw once that said "I believe in Bigfoot and I vote"
From my perspective nothing since I blocked the account.
Tactical RPGs. I try every now and then to play a fire emblem game and I just straight suck ass.
Getting the seeds out of a pomegranate, I've tried literally every method and I'm convinced every video that shows people doing it is fake.
I also cannot sing and clap at the same time.

I found a TRS-80 Model 4 at Goodwill the other day and was anticipating having to spend some time fixing it up but it all just works. Even both disk drives and the LSDOS 6.3 floppy that was inside work like they're brand new. I have some parts on the way to make a cassette cable so I can load programs from my laptop instead of typing the basic in by hand. Any recs? If it matters it's one of the B&W (not green) ones with 128k RAM.
Call it a third life crisis, but when I got out of therapy today I got a call from my boss and pulled the trigger. It's wild how privileged I have to be to be able to do something like this.
For me, if I ever hear "card-based" or "soulslike" I have absolutely no desire to play a game, no matter how many people reccomend it.
I'm also not a huge fan of modern "roguelikes" but I've sunk days into nethack and games like that.
I took this picture (and a video) the other day and feel the need to share it.
