  • Prices are ridiculous though. I mean I got my last set from there because they had an offer to get prescription sun glasses too, but in the past I’ve just searched cheap glasses online and had some for 10% the cost at the high street.

Quality isn’t as great as say designer frames which I have now, but also I seem to keep wearing my cheap ones as they’re more comfortable for my head.

  • This was me with undiagnosed ADHD, now diagnosed in later life.

I always thought I was just lazy and broken. Turns out I am not lazy at all. I mean I’m broken by life at this point, but to say I turned my life around after diagnosis is an understatement.

What makes me sad is I realise I was incredibly lucky to land a job at Apple who were so supportive and that led to my diagnosis upskilling and now I’m a software developer. So many people think that luck doesn’t play a part in their life and we would do well to realise where we have been lucky and take a moment to consider all the people who were not lucky. I don’t say this to say I didn’t work my ass off too, but hard work alone doesn’t cut it most the time.

  • Is it wrong to highlight that society in the west has gotten worse.

Sure you can’t blame boomers for just being born at the right time, but you can certainly blame them from pulling up the ladder and voting against anything that will affect them.

Take near me in the UK, plenty of home owners protesting against adding more houses along the green belt as it might devalue their properties. Utterly selfish behaviour, yet there are some home owners in these areas that support more houses because they care about more people than just themselves.

If you think giving more people a better chance at life is a threat to your existence then you’re a shitty person.

  • UK still has some cheaper areas. I know a guy that bought one near Burnley for £60k. Like the whole estate went to shit and so many got sold for this price. They needed a lot of work and the dude I know is a builder so he spent two years working and now it’s livable. Sadly he did it to rent out, but I would live in a shit whole. If I own it.

The town I live now is pretty rough, although we live in the nicer area but I’ve grown up working class and people ain’t that bad.

  • I am not saying I am cool at all, but this was me when working minimal wage jobs where they treat you like crap because you’re replaceable.

I see it as the company paying me the lowest legally allowed are also 10 a penny so I would die on a lot of hills rather than someone mug me off like that.

It has to be said though that undiagnosed, at the time, ADHD was likely a contributing factor to my nonchalance about work and I was never in a shit enough situation where I would have to suck it up. As I didn’t care if I went back on job seekers allowance until I found another shitty job.

I am now a software developer 😂. Who knew. All those companies treating me like shit and I had this potential all along. Imagine companies tried to help you reach that potential, well actually Apple did in the end and I am where I am because I got lucky and got a temp job at Apple which changed my life.

A few examples of my insane antics:

    • I was notorious for not turning up for work some times and just not telling them. It was more if I was going to be late I just hated being late so would just not go. McDonald’s gave me like 6 final warnings and I got sick of it. So in the last one I said look mate, when I’m hear I am one of the top performers as I like to be the best at shit, and if I ain’t here 10 mins after my start then I ain’t coming so make plans. If you don’t like me like this then let me go now otherwise let me go back to work. They let me stay.
    • Call centre tried to make us come in 15 mins early to load the systems and stuff ready for first calls at start time. I asked if this was paid. They said no. I also said no then. Anyway after a few days they push it again and say they’ll let me go. I say alright bet. I’ll come in early tomorrow. When I got up to put on my coat and leave 15 mins early they were not happy. I said if you make me start early I’ll leave early. Suffice to say I could come in at the correct time because I was fucking awesome on the phones.
    • JD Sports warehouse. Fired and arrested for punching a jobsworth in the face for telling me I couldn’t lean on my trolly whilst queueing up to get our pick sheets at the start of a 12 hours walking shift. Talk to me like that and you will get rocked, on camera or not. You get paid 10p an hour more than me you cunt.
    • Finally I was a stealing little shit and I boosted my wages from many companies that treated me like shit. Like some scams so good that I got more than my salary. Although these are for another thread if anyone is interested in what antics I did.
  • I can buy a house near me for £100,000. That means I have £500,000 left to earn interest on steadily.

Without taking in pay rises I will be working for the next 25 years and won’t earn too much more than £500,000 anyway. I am lucky in that my job is very chill and my salary is for 33 hours a week and we get 4 weeks holiday at the moment. Will rise to 5 weeks.

I class odd jobs as maybe a Saturday job or several days a week. I am also good at just learning how to do things myself. Need to do some joinery great I’ve got all the time in the world.

  • I did until like a week ago.

I’d had enough as they hurt and wasn’t getting better, I do a lot of rock climbing so the chalk makes the issue worse, plus I have not been doing great mentally so diet and hydration was awful.

    What I did:

    • Bought some Nails Inc Cuticle Oil (I am male, but it works). You just add a bit and rub it in. I now use this most days and definitely after climbing.
    • I know that with a poor diet I am likely missing vitamins as some of my nails had lines down them. I take a cheap multi vitamin everyday.
    • I am conscious to drink more water, although I already drink 2-3liter a day.
    • I am making plans to improve my eating habits as I get decision fatigue and really just don’t eat enough. Think I’ve been alive too long that food is just meh at this point. But I went climbing yesterday on hardly anything and felt incredibly sick.

My nails are better now. My mental health not so much but one step at a time.

  • People were peacefully protesting the government and then they sent the army and tanks.

I was only a child so I don’t remember it, but what I do remember is the militarised police force in America was sent out to quash anti-Zionist / anti-genocide protests.

I remember BLM where police agitated the crowd to become more violent.

I remember America invading so so so many countries under the guise of freedom.

  • Why are you here then?

Like I see posts about Anime all the time and that isn’t my thing, so you know what I do… I just pass on by and let people enjoy what they enjoy without trying to come off as superior or enlightened.
