How to keep your privacy
  • because it requires a phone number

    Yes, fair criticism.

    They're based in the USA

Sure, but the way the protocol and servers work there is no metadata etc unlike Matrix and XMPP, so nothing to hand over.

    contain proprietary blobs

This is probably true of the version from the play store, desktop and maybe iOS version. However the apk from Signal's site on android might not, I am unsure.

Molly is the fork I'd recommend instead

Sadly Molly is only available on Android, so that leaves out iOS and Desktop users.

  • How to keep your privacy
  • it runs local on your phone, and if deleted from the phone, your account is deleted too.

This is categorically false. The accounts exist on servers for both Matrix and XMPP and hold the messages for them, so no in fact no accounts etc get deleted if you delete the app. You actually have to delete the accounts from the app first.

  • How to keep your privacy
  • We would not recommend Matrix, there are both many fascists on it and they didn't fix a security vulnerability with their encryption for years that they knew about. Also if you must use Matrix don't use fluffychat as it doesn't have the encryption fix yet.

Signal is a better choice for privacy as everything is encrypted by default and it has both the audits and legal testing to prove its safety and code. Something which no other messenger we have seen can honestly say.

  • Asexuality, aromanticism etc, and marriage fraud investigation
  • Well, we are both from different countries so sharing finances for anything is difficult and we're both relatively poor.

Well, we did look up on this page and it seemed to indicate requiring the marriage to be 'consummated' and other things we don't do nor want to.

  • Asexuality, aromanticism etc, and marriage fraud investigation

So a partner and us are thinking about getting married so we can emigrate somewhere (we do genuinely want to be together). However we're both ace-spec and thus don't have sex.

We're also both not cis, nor monogamous.

They're also aromantic and thus with all these things we don't behave in a typical mono allocishet way.

So is there any hope for us or will marriage fraud investigators tell us no without us kissing, having sex and generally behaving as expected?

  • No, it's not just that, please see our reply to dandelion in this thread. But as a more direct answer to your question, we don't think we can orgasm from physical sensations alone or might not have ever or be able to, that or they might always be shit.

  • NSFW
    Unresolvable horniness. [NSFW]
  • We're kind of an odd case, maybe? We aren't sure but we didn't really enjoy sex or masturbation before HRT either, partially due to demisexuality, partially due to expectations and gender roles, partially because we didn't really know what we liked and to some degree we still don't. We also either never had orgasms or considered them pretty bad: "this is it?!"

We are less and less interested in 'content': porn, erotica etc (though whether we ever really were interested or not is debatable). Our fantasies have shifted though whether this is because we're interested in softer things now or what we've always wanted and only now admitted it to ourselves, we aren't sure.

We cried from being unable to do anything about it the other week and how much connection we need before we could even consider doing something so intimate with someone else, so there's probably also some emotional effects from hormones going on.

We also get anxiety and dysphoria from wanting things but not being able to get them met and from having the genitals we have, but they were probably both there to some degree before HRT too, might be stronger now, we don't know.

However, if you just mean the physical effects well, we don't ejaculate any more (at least not when doing things to ourselves, or perhaps from physical touch alone), we get hot sometimes when we 'finish' though 'finishing' is hard to reach most of the time. We didn't really experience random erections much before HRT and definitely don't now, so yeah. We don't really know what an orgasm would be like or if we'll ever get there but we might one day, if not well, either we'll have to shift what we want or just somehow be okay with never having them again or accept they were and always will be shit.

Hello, we were wondering if there were any Peritoneal Pull Through Vaginoplasty surgeons in the UK, or if not or they're not good where would y'all recommend going?

Not currently seeing the GIC because of long waiting lists, so don't know if that's a concern. We are on hormones though.

Also, haven't had any other surgeries yet, should we do before consulting them?

    Thanks!

[Solved] Blahaj eating posts in our new community

We are trying to create posts in our new community !kink@lemmy.blahaj.zone and for some reason they aren't appearing or if they are we can't see them from this account.

Is this a blahaj problem (possibly due to the upgrades) or are new communities not allowed to have posts in them until they've been vetted or some such or is it some other problem we don't yet understand?

Edit: Figured it out, we had "Show NSFW content" off in our settings even though those posts are not marked NSFW themselves it must inherent the 'NSFW'ness from the community, strange but makes sense.

Possible physical transition problems based on what we are taking, can y'all help?

So because getting to see the GIC is seemingly impossible, we are currently being prescribed three things by gender G.P (who have become decreasingly helpful over time):

    • Finasteride (started 2-ish years ago)
    • Estrogen patches (started 2-ish years ago)
    • Progesterone (started a year in)

    Current prescription states:

    • Finasteride - 5mg taken in the morning, once daily
    • Estrogen patches - 150mcg released over 24 hours, changed twice weekly.
    • Progesterone suppository - 200mg taken once daily in the evening

We were watching a video debunking sci-show's video about HRT and it said that finasteride is a not an AA and effectively only stops hair loss (which we don't think we had before starting).

We have some problems as our chest seems to have either stopped developing or ran into problems and seems to have developed tubular breasts syndrome (they're an okay size but a bit triangular and don't look quite 'right' to us) but we aren't sure if this is because we did something wrong or not?

    So our questions are:

    • Should we stop our current regimen of finasteride?
    • Did we start taking progesterone too early?
    • Will our chest continue to grow and work its way out of this shape/problem?

What happens if we put patches in the fridge if they say not to?

So today we finally got around to reading the instructions for some of our patches (Estradot) and realised they say not to put them in the fridge (or freezer but we wouldn't put patches in the freezer anyway). We took them out but they have been in there for months.

Are they ruined or less effective?

We started doing it because our other patches (Evorel) denatured once a while ago, and wanted to avoid the same fate with these ones since it's been a hot summer and have nowhere really cool to store them since we are on the top floor of a building and thus it gets very hot up here, even in our drawers.

So we are wondering what exactly is the problem with them being in the fridge and are they ineffective now or will they be okay now that they're in the a drawer and hopefully stay cool for the rest of the month?

We have left our other patches (Evorel) in the fridge as they don't say not to.

Looking for specific kinds of skirts (or dresses) in the uk

Hi there, we are interested in specific types of skirts (or dresses), namely those that go up at the front and down at the back (especially if there's a significant difference i.e. shorter at the front and longer at the back so the back going down is obvious) and was wondering if any of y'all knew their name or where to get them.

We would especially love it if they could have multiple layers but a single layer would be okay if that's not possible.

Oh and a request, if possible, since we don't use amazon since they do not treat their workers well we would prefer no links to them, thank you!

Extra bonus points if any of them have pockets, but that's a big ask, we know.
