What did you lose along the way and how will you restore it or make things right again?
  • Something that helped me was to "just do it for 2 mins" - then decide if you want to keep doing it or not. I found a lot of times since I was already doing it, I would keep going.

This really helped me get back on track.

  • How can I politely phrase, "My company is full of old men in leadership who don't understand data so using AI effectively is next to impossible"

I work at a place where data quality is not on anyone's radar. We have a reporting team in our group so we do our best where we can, but combining any datasets with other groups (like marketing & sales) is next to impossible as each team is silo'd and do things their own way - think free-form text fields to tag content...

How can I politely and succinctly say the above? Also, anyone else in a similar boat?

Homeless encampments have largely vanished from San Francisco. Is the city at a turning point?
  • I just went to Dreamforce last week and was told they push the tents further away from the conference while it's happening.

I don't know what it looked like before but there are still PLENTY of homeless in San Francisco and it's very sad to see.

  • George A. Romero's The Crazies (1973)
  • Didn't realize there was an original. Everyone kept saying The Crazies is a great movie but I tried watching it multiple times and would just get bored (the newer one). I'll have to give this one a go!

  • Strong Female Characters
  • Less scifi and more fantasy, I just finished The Priory Of The Orange Tree and I highly recommend

And just want to add A Great And Terrible Beauty as another Fantasy book that is a wonderful read (series)

  • Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford says his hopes on Epic Store were 'overly optimistic or misplaced'
  • There was a point I tried to switch to Epic, just to try it out - it is so unbelievably slow & oddly hard to find and organize my own games. They NEED to start putting $$ into the UI otherwise all those free games are for nothing if idetest opening the client itself.

  • Where to buy women's business clothes

Just curious if anyone has any advice for my situation. I am a petite lady who needs to wear business / business casual outfits for work. I've been lifting heavy for the past year or so and my arms no longer fit into my long sleeve shirts (biceps/Triceps are too big). Is there a brand / store / service anyone can recommend so I can buy more fitting business attire? Thanks!

Sometimes my brain feels like it's stuck in a loop

I ran a meeting today and it didn't go as well as I had hoped. My video was delayed from what I was saying, was just overall more nervous than I had hoped to be which than caused me to rush (which didn't help at all with the video delay).

I know logically I should just take this as a learning situation and do better next time. But I can't stop thinking about it. I know I'm going to go to bed tonight and think about all the things I could've done better and not get any sleep.

How do people "change the channel" in their heads?

    Crazy cucumbers

Very new to gardening. Very happy my garden hasn't died with all the crazy rain we're getting here!

Any friendly advice for these crazy cucumbers? They keep expanding! (2 squash on the right, 4 cucumbers to the left of them, then lettuce). Definitely going to give everything more room next year.

    Rotten squash question

Last year I started a garden for the first time. Learned a lot! When I picked my squash last year it seemed fine, then I kept it on my counter for maybe a week before I noticed a small rotten spot on the underside. Eventually the rotten spot grew and I just composted the whole squash.

Not sure what went wrong. Was thinking -should I put hay or something under my squash when it starts to grow on the dirt?
