Seeing this pains me, especially considering Id Software's history with Linux. Prior to being bought by Bethesda, most of Id's games had official native Linux ports. Even Doom 3 had a native Linux port, it doesn't seem to work anymore but there are source ports like Dhewm3 available for it.
Yes but the problem is with Square Enix themselves. For some reason, they have the mindset that the only remake that would sell is FF7. This is the reason why they've been working not just two completely different remakes of the original game but also remakes of the sequels and prequels, along at least one new game that takes place in FF7's universe. A remake of any game prior to FF11 would sell well but they exclusively chose to remake FF7.
They wouldn't even have to go as far as they did the FF7 remake. They could easily remake one of the games in the style of something simpler like either Crisis Core or FF12 and it would probably sell very well, especially if it's decently priced.
I know that Reddit does (at least it did back when I still used it) but I'm not sure about Lemmy. I know that Lemmy does have bot accounts for other purposes, so I guess it's not impossible but I haven't heard of or seen one here.
Do you remember what platform(s) it was on? There are a bunch of games that come to mind but none of them have everything you've mentioned.
Mobile gaming. I still kind of hate it but after finding some good games and using emulators, I've grown to except it and I do actively play games on mobile now.
On older android devices, I immediately enable developer mode so I can enable "force GPU rendering". You'd be surprised how much of a difference it can make when games are unoptimized and don't use the GPU to render anything. For some reason, this setting was removed from newer versions of android.
I've haven't used it before just now but the Android version of Firefox has an extension called "MobiDevTools" on their extension store. It has various web developer tools, including a developer console. For some reason it doesn't seem to open when I'm on the extension store but it works just fine with every other website I tried.
I know that not everyone is interested in this but I'd use it as another method to play PC games on my Android devices. Right now, JoiPlay and a few source ports I'm aware of are the only apps that I've been able to get PC games working successfully with on any of my Android devices. I've tried both Winlator and Limbo Port but I have not yet gotten a single game working correctly in either of them. Granted, I have no idea how to properly configure them, so I might just not be using them correctly.
Is there any information on what they mean by a "Linux based OS", like is it going to be "Linux" Linux or is it just going to be similar to android/ChromeOS? I've read a few articles about it but outside of it being called "Vega", I can't find any other information about it.
One thing I've noticed is that I'm not met with slurs or death threats every time I post to an android related community. I always hated posting to android related subreddits because of this, especially considering the fact that the mods would punish me instead of the ones being vulgar/aggressive towards me.
So far the only thing the only "bad" thing that I can recall happening to me in an android community here on Lemmy was that a post I made was removed for "not being specific enough to android". I personally think that Lemmy isn't popular enough yet to justify doing that but I do understand their decision.
I recently played the GameCube version of Chibi-Robo and I was surprised by how that game ends. It very quickly turns into a horror game without warning right before the final (and only) boss.
I usually just use the website in a mobile browser as I generally avoid websites that require an app. It's an unnecessary waste of space when the website could just work in a mobile browser but some developers, whether it's because of incompetence or it's actually intentional, either limit what features are available in mobile browsers or just make the website not work at all.
Yeah, I sometimes have dreams that constantly change like that, I usually don't remember them though. Some of the crazy/weird things that happen in my dreams are stuff like I randomly become or have been a woman, I'm somehow romantically involved with people I hate or that I'm in a situation where I'm surrounded by tentacles.
Mainly just playing games through emulators. Sometimes I play actual mobile games but it's rare that I find an actually good mobile game that doesn't lag horrendously on my phone. I also sometimes use it to watch Youtube videos before go to bed.
There is also some other things but there probably not worth mentioning.
When I plugged it in to my computer, it didn't show up in the list of connected devices. I can try using fastboot but I have no idea what that is, can I use Linux or would I have to use Windows?
I acutally tried that and it will boot into the droidboot menu but it wont go into the recovery menu. So yeah, it's probably dead. But it's fine, there wasn't anything important.
I tried it and it just takes me back to the USB logo. It's fine if I can't recover the files, I wont lose much.
My old HP 7 tablet wont boot and just shows the USB logo, is there any way to either get it working again or at least recover the files?
What is "Mobile Services" and would disabling it prevent me from being able to send and receive texts or calls?
Does anyone know what happened to the developer DreamSky? All of their apps on the Google Play Store are completely missing and they don't seem to be responding to support emails.
What in Android can potentially cause specific functions of Bluetooth devices to be blocked unless I am physically touching the screen?
If anyone here plays Curse of Aros, is the wiki correct when it states that skeletal bats and snakes drop cursed staves?
When I shutdown my computer last night, it gave me this error message. It seems to be working fine but should I be considered?
I'm looking for something that I can do with my phone that would be at least "semi-passively productive", any suggestions?
The update manager in Linux Mint updated libllvm15 and now Brave is completely unusable for me. Is it possible to fix this without using a system backup?
I'm looking to use a different Linux distro but I think that there is a potential issue with ext4 and I wanted to not only ask if it could be the case but also ask what solution I should use if it is.
