- Story about Finning of Sharpedo form Pokemon Leaks
In places where there are rules and order, and these things are valued, only important people are allowed to capture Sharpedo.
Even when captured, Sharpedo are treated with care, brought back to land, their fins cut and sold at a high price, and every part of the fish is eaten.
Even the bones are treated carefully, respectfully, and with love.
In such places, the lives of many Sharpedo are not lost unnecessarily, and valuable things are treated as valuable.
In the current capitalist world, which lacks rules and order, people on massive ships capture more Sharpedo than needed, cutting off their fins and throwing them back into the sea while still alive.
This way, they procure them in large quantities and sell them cheaply.
This is meritocracy.
What's wrong with the strong killing the weak?
The former represents many places and values in the PokΓ©mon world.
This time, however, Team Galactic holds the latter worldview.
In other words, they represent the excessive and extreme aspects of the real world.

Anyone tried it? Thoughts?
spoiler
Looks like it is gonna be your typical Persona type game with element based turn based combat and social links. Don't mind that though. Always welcome fresh Persona slop.
There are some mechanic changes which seem nice.
The game kinda turns the concept of fantasy around where the protag holds dear a fantasy book, but the fantasy is essentially a story of our (human) world. And the powerful boss monsters in the game are called humans. Personally I don't like this. I find it a bit immersion breaking. But maybe it will grow on me.
And yeah the performance on my laptop feels a bit lacking. Only a gtx 1650 and i5 processor but the game cannot consistently maintain 60 on low or intermediate graphics. I will try it on PS5 later and see if it runs well.
- Anyone here tried Unicorn Overlord?
I downloaded it a few days ago. My first impression is good so far. I don't like strategy games because of monke brain but with this one I've been having fun.
The battle system is novel as far as I know. At first I was a bit disappointed that you don't get to control individual characters but I've grown to like the system since then. I am playing on "tactical" difficulty and I retried the first battle three times to get it "right".
It has the usual JRPG (a little bit nauseating) pro-monarchy premise which TBH I don't mind in fantasy settings, but it feels tired and uncreative. But I have been able to look past that because the rest of the game is fine. The animations look really nice without needing much sophistication. The English voice acting was a bit cringe so I switched to the Japanese one.
I don't know if the game will be able to grab me till the end (unlikely because of commitment issues) but it is a nice surprise to be sure.

I might get it...
- Ps5 Pro msrp prices
The console will be available only without a disc drive which has to be bought separately, same goes for the stand
- Astrobot is just a pure delight.
That is really all I have to say, but Astrobot is just one of the most delightful games I have played in years. Nothing deep or life-changing, just pure simple fun. Very much in the Nintendo school of design philosophy, but I enjoy it more than anything Nintendo has put out recently.
Looks visually great, fantastic music, and a lot of interesting mechanics that never overstay their welcome. They are still the only studio who has really leveraged all the PS5 haptics well too. My partner won't let me play it by myself because she just enjoys watching it that much.
Basically, if you have a PS5 I strongly recommend it.
- New 'Crisis in the Kremlin' game
If you are not already familiar with nostalgames, they're an indie game studio that makes pro AES/pro socialist strategy games. This seems to be a remake of one of their past games 'Crisis of the Kremlin', in which you could could kill yeltsin and save the USSR.... im HOOKED.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1922740/Crisis_in_the_Kremlin_The_Cold_War/?curator_clanid=30106415
The demo is already out so im gonna check it out right after i post this
- since misinfo re: my country has forced me to come back unofficially and earlier than i wanted, i might as well ask: is there any other COD game that isn't pure state propaganda and isn't anti-USSR?
i know COD WAW is one of them where it has the best portrayal of the soviets, but the other COD games where you also get to play as the soviets/red army soldier like in the original COD (COD 2003) and in COD 2 - are they just as good? or at least, not as problematic as with the newer cod games?
because i refuse to play any game that's just pure crystallized american state propaganda and talks shit about the USSR. fuck off with that shit.
- Your favorite NDS and 3DS games? Especially hidden gems
I recently cracked my 3ds (which is super easy to do now that they've stopped updating it) and you can use it to play any previous generation games (up to PS1). Wish I knew that before I bought a purpose-made console lol
I have a huge catalog of games but since I'm switching out my SD card for a bigger one, I'm looking to basically just download whatever seems interesting. What's your favorite 3ds and nds games? (Please don't say PokΓ©mon)

Anyone else getting this game?
I'm on the fence, tbh.
- I feel like too many video games look the same.
They're either pixel-shit or wastelands or some shit.
At times, they seem very grey-ish, like the Dune duology by Denis Velleneuve.
The color palette's just not doing it for me.
And at times, the gameplay is the same... Remember when Nintendo made games with more gameplay "gimmicks"? I miss those "gimmicks" because they made things interesting, but at least Echoes of Wisdom (the new Zelda game) will have something like that... Even the Indie games can sometimes over-use the Unity engine or Unreal Engine 5.
It may be because I'm depressed, but aside from OMORI, which is also a bit derivative from other RPG Maker games (I still love it), nothing really... Idk, looks interesting?
h a l p
I just had a thread about suggesting me games, but I'm running into the same problem as before.
...I... probably should at least try them, at least some, but I feel like I'll run out of games that ARE good and then quickly bump into games that ARE bad. I don't know. Maybe just me. Probably lol
Thoughts? Do you think too many games nowadays look the same or "samey"? Do you think many have this problem?

- Desert Fox (1972): The oldest known World War II video game
What you are about to watch is a recording of what may very well be the first WWII video game ever published. Milwaukee Coin Industries, Ltd. (MCI) released this in the May of 1972 (twentyβsix years after WWII officially ended), and it seems that the company went out of business sometime in the 1970s. The player takes control of an Allied aeroplane during the Axisβs North African campaign, and has to fire quickly at the targets that appear.
Despite this productβs obvious historic value, you wonβt find many mentioning this as they would mention, say, Wolfenstein 3D, and copies of it are extremely difficult to find. This is my modest contribution to drawing attention towards it.

- Persona games should be set in college
CW: I talk about sexual harrasment and paedo-adjacent content of the game.
In the past I have played Persona 5 and Persona 3 Reload. I am currently playing Persona 5 Golden. I feel this game would be better off if the main characters were college students of college age rather than high school students without having to change the basic formula of the game much.
Reasons why I think so:
- College-aged people struggle with self-discovery just as much as high school students.
- Can still play as a mute pussy magnet.
- The central premise of playing as a transfer student attending an educational institution can remain intact.
- Clubs and sports still exist for social link inserts.
- Persona games often deal with mature themes, which college age students can understand and process better than high school students.
- Rampant sexual harrasment against the female characters is slightly less detestable because it is now being done to people of legal age rather than 16-17 year old children.
- Can preserve the premise of the Heirophant arcana, where you live under the care of a non-parent guardian.
- Several cases of exceptional students become easier to digest. For example, the police being assisted by ace detectives aged 20-22 is more believable than by ace detectives aged 16-18 (Naoto and Akechi)
Cons:
- I don't know how the classroom sequence would work since colleges have a wider variety of classes with more agency for the students. Perhaps the MC could be the joker because there is a certain discipline like physchology that they are very well versed in and that is hardcoded in.
- Less appeal to paedophiles.
In general I don't know if I have the confidence to suggest that college students are that much more mature than high school students. For me personally I felt I growed the most after college. But age is definitely a factor and for some people a few years can make a lot of difference.
- You, there! Recommend me video games OR...
...OR I will refer to records as "vinyl CDs" like I did last time.
You have been warned.
Don't test me; I will do it!
Current games I have on my sights are:
The original Deus Ex
Ib
Infinity Nikki
Remnant II
Silent Hill II (through emulation)
Dragon's Dogma II
Slay the Princess
ELEX and ELEX 2
Dread Delusion
Daggerfall
Morrowind
Hylics 1 and 2
RuneScape 3 (not RuneScape Classic... I know, I know, don't hurt me!)
Currently playing:
Elden Ring (finishing it)
OMORI (slowly taking my time in finishing it)
Fallout 76 (much better than what it was at launch; if anyone wants to play with me, they may ask me)
Recently finished:
Disco Elysium
Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous (y'all should play both Pathfinder CRPG games)
Love:
CRPGs
MMORPGs (yes, even now)
Open-world games (...yes, even with the over-saturation)
Decision-making
Stealth games
Pacifist runs
Minor horror elements? Eh, idk, nothing, like, over-bearing, ig
Macabre horror (basically, horror that isn't horror; just has the aesthetic)
3D platformers (like Super fucking Mario; you know, the Italian-American voiced by Chris Pratt)
Mods, mods, mods
Not too fucking long; let me finish a game when I want to easily (so, basically, not, like, Persona 5-levels of long, idk)
Anything like Majora's Mask
"Nautical games" (Wind Waker, Dredge, etc.)
"Classic games" (basically, games through emulation)
VR games, oddly enough
"Cozy games"
"girl games" shovel-ware (basically, the precursor to "cozy games"; the type of shit you found on the Nintendo Wii)
Interactivity outside of the actual game (I don't know much about Pokemon Go... but what I do know is Pokemon Go to the polls)
Dungeon crawlers (think: King's Field)
Music with lyrics, idk (I don't know much about Quavo... but what I do know is Quavo go to the polls)
Good music. Banger music, even.
No loading screens; seriously, let me start up a game and just play. I feel like starting up a game nowadays is sometimes a whole process.
Non-Western games (...Eh, tbh, I don't really have a bias, I'm just sort-of interested in how they're developing and what they have to bring... SO think: Chinese, Vietnamese, Russian, Indian, African, Latin American, etc.)
Nintendo games...
...or anything LIKE a Nintendo game (with wacky gameplay, idk)
Autistic games... Okay, so far, I think OMORI is, like, the only "Autistic game" out there, but surprise me.
LGBTQIA+ games
BIPOC character games
... okay, that's all, you don't even have to follow these requirements at all; hell, be a little creative and use your own insight.
Okay... now...
...SHOOT!
