For the mozart one, i always thought it was some german word for counting... it is not. K or KV stands for the name of someone who started cataloging mozarts repertoir in composition order. So it stands for Köchel Verzeichnis (Köchel catalogue) or just Köchel..
So now that I know that the K stands for a random dude, i prefer Bach's numbering BWV, which stands for Bachswerkeverzeichnis or catalogue of bach's works or compositions
