So I saw one of the friends in the group that excluded me from their catch up last week. He was saying how we should plan another pot luck dinner with the group (thatโs what we did the last time I saw them all) and have it at person Xโs place. So maybe they felt bad I wasnโt with them last week? Who knows. I just acted dumb, said sure etc, no confrontation about why I wasnโt invited last week. Letโs see if it happens. Iโll forgive but I wonโt forget!
Super long day with psych session (v v good debrief of the last week and coping strategies for the coming weeks, but needed downtime after). Went back to the office to eat dinner then worked till 10 to catch up on lost time and finish this week's work. At least that's one less thing on my plate for a while. Still need to do an extra 4 hours somewhere...
I am irrationally mad at the people in one of the heaps of units nearby who just slam car doors loudly and repeatedly no matter the time. I might just close the windows tonight and see how I go since the flat is cool enough.
I finished reading the Expanse last night. I've not been that engaged with a book series since I discovered Tom Clancy as a 12 year old who was obsessed with Navy aircraft.
Don't really know what to read now.... I saw an interview with Henry Cavill where he was asked his go to sci fi writers. Without hesitation the first thing he said was anything by Robert E Feist.... So I guess I'll try that....
Edit. Decided on Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan.
I'm always so tired when I have my week of late shifts. I can't change the time I wake up (or at least not so quickly) so I'm still up at the same time, but I don't get to sleep until two hours later than normal๐ด๐ด๐ด
So what's the etiquette about walking your green waste bin out then tipping all the water down the storm drain.....? It stinks!......asking for a friend obviously
Can't claim sewing course is going well. Nobody is horrid, but I'm highly dubious my result will fit, and can really do without the graphic prego stories!
Goodbye old house and old life!!! Onto the transitory period before the next big thing... interestingly just yesterday I hear from my cousin in regional Vic that they're seriously considering moving (back) to WA...
I'd like to be one of those people who feels compelled to buy a book every time they go into a book store, but they're like $20 for even a basic paperback. I don't want to drop that much every time I go look at books
Two members of my household tested positive for COVID today and I have symptoms but tested negative. Time to sit and watch some movies for the rest of the week maybe.
said it before and I'm sure I will say it again: Boys highschool sex ed should be bringing in a new dad whos got a kid in daycare and ask them "how many times you been sick this year?". You'd scare the crap out of them.
So the good thing about discovering i needed to raise the ground level of the food garden area is that when i'm digging out the pathway alongside and leading up to it i can just hurl the shovelfulls about three feet. And I don't have to sift and weed overmuch (apart from the most egregious) since it's all going under geo anyway. Much time save, me likey
I've just signed myself up for a couple of days of gardening at my Mum's place. The good part of this is that I get to go wild plant shopping - I need a bunch of hardy sun-loving plants to go in a border and a couple of planter boxes. I'm thinking mostly natives, but will have to see what I can find.
Austin Powers International Man of Mystery commentary. Was not enlightening other than finding out Mindy Sterling is a total comedic genius who made her own character and ad libbed her lines.
Passengers. Still a very beautiful movie in every way.
