Thanks, I hate it
wage loss detected, sabotage mode engaged.
The day an automated system reduces my pay for socializing all of 3 seconds to myself is the day I begin welding steel plates to a bulldozer and go for a drive through upper mansgemt offices.
i mean that day should really have come a while ago, and it seems pretty evident that A LOT of people just straight up do not have a point at which they'll do anything more radical than complain on facebook.
literally no food in stores, and you're actively starving? oh well nothing to be done about this, i voted for the Leopards Eating People's Faces party and they say they're doing all they can to help me..
seriously i'd rather see it all burned down and my own bones charred to ash than suffer such a condition to persist. fuck absolutely every thing and every PERSON about this.
reminds me of the old greentext that was like "please drink a mtn dew verification can to continue"
i really hope something happens soon to prevent this future.
I DIDNT REMEMBER IT WAS FROM 2013 HOLY MOLY. i am old.
Sony has the patent.
Seent it
But not the burger pickling
I mean, quality of life has gone up almost everywhere in the world (warzones being the exception ofcourse). The issue is just that the class divide is also going up everywhere.
quality of life has gone up almost everywhere in the world
That's going to age like milk in a hot car in America come July.
i did say "almost" :D i was specifically thinking of the US when i wrote that.
You've never had a car milkshake?
They did say "almost".
If the quality of life of poor people is 1% better while for rich people it’s 100000% better, then we still need to get some guillotines out in the streets
Just because it’s “better” doesn’t mean it’s fair or that it shouldn’t be orders of magnitude better
What is "quality of life"? I would argue it hasn't really gone up a great deal since the 90s.
If you live in a very privileged country then maybe that is your experience. The rest of the world however has only barely started catching up in terms of food security. None the less the situation is soooo much better than it was 30 years ago. Its still not good by any means, but to say that it hasnt gone up is absurd.
I mean, I've experienced something similar at work, except not automated.
And the amount of talking was literally just us asking each other for help. For example to help with moving a loaded pallet using a pallet jack as this was in a freezer, and the floor had frost on it (I alone would just "walk" in the same spot trying to pull or push it).
"The client has complained they heard talking, so please be quiet." (the client being a supermarket chain, or in this case, their representative)
Disregarding the manager could result in a negative point. The negative point would reduce you to minimum wage for that day.
This was in the storage area of a supermarket. A closed supermarket. It couldn't bother a single soul.
the fact that people like that manage to avoid having terrible terrible things done to them is a testament to the mental fortitude of the average worker
The idea that your wage can be reduced as a minor penalty is atrocious
Jesus Christ
I hope that representative found a great new job they love where their great failure respecting people can no longer hurt anyone
amazon smart watch: I'm sorry, I didn't catch that. Please say "productivity" to acknowledge
me: Productivity
amazon smart watch: Until you say "productivity", your hourly rate will keep decreasing. Please say "productivity" to acknowledge
me: PROD UC TIVITY
amazon smart watch: I think you said "productivity". Please say "yes" or "no" to confirm
Reminds me of the 4chan green text about playing Xbox and having to drink mountain dew or something idr it exactly
At least the robots on the packing line will be alive, the rest of us - as no longer needed labour - will be dead, haha.
Nah you will be kept poor enough to not be able to rebel and rich enough to have something (to lose) and be able to participate in capitalism.
Capitalism needs workers to exploit, even once all the robots are built. In the end it’s people that have to do the labor and that must pay the billionaires next space shuttle
Reminds me of Buying Time, a far-future dystopia comic based around the idea that one needs to spend social credits in order to talk to people (I think for a certain length of time). Those who are credit poor are effectively shut out of society.
How delightful
Welcome to Costco, I love you.
