Once upon a time, ripcord was my favorite to use, unfortunately its been dead and dormant for over 2 years now.
Id love to know if anybody knows any similar client (for example: be it in having custom design, or being super lightweight)
(yes, i know, you dont have to say i should use matrix or something else)
If this is "completely open source" and "doesn't rely on the original Discord client in any way" (from their front page) how can mods for the official client be compatible?
Oh wait, their faq clarifies things: it's an electron wrapper for the official web client, not a completely open source client that doesn't rely on the official one as they claim.
Ripcord is really unique and it's still my favorite third party client. Abaddon might be worth trying. Unfortunately, most other third party clients are wrappers.
tried out abaddon but it tells me it couldnt fetch the build number which increases chances of being flagged
their github has one related issue with no solution
Yeah think so but with extra privacy hardening features and especially useful Screensharing on Wayland! I don't know if there is an alternative to it for Screensharing on wayland
Most of the "third party clients" being suggested here are wrappers for the official client. I use purple-discord. If you don't care about voice/video this works well enough.
