MSNBC host and former White House press secretary Jen Psaki said Thursday that third-party candidates like Robert F. Kennedy Jr. are a “huge, huge, huge problem” for President Biden’s reelection ca…
Bidens only real opponent right now is himself and people not showing up.
Trump is a known quantity in that Trump voters are locked in. Trump hasn't grown his base whatsoever, nor has it really reduced. No one new is voting for Trump who didn't vote for him before. And Biden isn't going to move those voters.
Biden however, he needs progressives, he needs first and second generation Americans, he needs the black and latino votes. These voters aren't going to RFK Jr, they just aren't going to show up. There is no block going to RFK Jr. right now and to suggest there is is preposterous. Biden just needs to actually show up and do better on a few things and he'll be fine. But to do that he actually has to show up and do better.
Bidens only real opponent right now is himself and people not showing up.
I feel like the top 3 issues for him right now:
Gaza and Ukraine (and genocide.)
Immigration (boy has he moved to the right here. The GOP has ran out of ideas that don't involve machine gun turrets and walls.)
messaging on the economy. ( "Are you better off now than four years ago?"... No. No I am not. most people are not. Most people are worse off than four years ago, because we've been drawing down savings and taking on debt to survive.)
Just FYI DNC, if you want them to not be a problem you could always actually do something about electoral reform... oh wait, that means your shitty establishment picks would probably suddenly get booted out of office.
Personally, I'm going to vote for Biden and encourage yall to do the same, but this is so fucking enraging coming from the establishment that has purposefully blocked solving this very problem.
What? They have Superdelegates that nullify voters if it's close at all, nothing wrong there. And Ranked-Choice or something better? No way, man! That would be absolute chaos. Chaos I tell you!!
Look, this has probably been rehashed over and over, but I hate that Psaki is an MSNBC host now. She’s a smart lady with a successful career in politics, but she was the Press Secretary for the current sitting president ffs. It’s a bad look. Being Press Secretary doesn’t necessarily prepare you to do the same job as your antagonists. She’s not particularly good at being a news anchor, she’s not a skilled interviewer, and her punditry is vanilla and uninteresting at best.
MSNBC has made some terrible decisions lately. Chris Hayes is the only one left that I respect over there.
