Like holy shit man, people (at my company at least) now think you can write a program to control what is essentially your entire database system, security and business analytics with chatgpt.
Maybe I’m just not meant for this and this is the norm. But it’s taken me like 2 months to get a handle on three different types of API and program documentation. And I’ve also been doing like sys admin work too.
But three jobs in, and I’m starting to realize this is exactly what companies want. Because why pay multiple people for work in a department when they can just offload everything to one person and pay them nothing and know that the economy is so fucked that you’re basically trapped

A cool paper and all, but I can’t stop thinking about how this shit won’t matter at all to C suites and MBAs who just want to AUTOMATE AUTOMATE AUTOMATE everything under the sun. Reminds me of how the experts in whatever specialized field research a problem and business people just throw away the results and make up their own (i.e. marketing).

I know some people who watch leftish content (mostly just for entertainment) on YouTube and when those people tell me something makes them mad, my first instinct is to encourage them to do something on the end.
When I hear those types of reactions, I almost look at it like theory through an entirely different medium. Does that make sense or is this just a case where I should let people enjoy things

In every org I’ve been apart of, there comes a time where you can slowly start to see people suddenly switch their use of language and become fully engulfed by whatever “system” they belong to. Corporate America, church, clubs, it’s kinda fucking terrifying to see in real time. And the people who notice this happening/tell people to check themselves never seem to have enough power/authority to get it to stop. And then it fucking spirals out of control and you’re dealing with borderline cults.

I went to a “non-partisan political organizing day of action” or whatever (kinda pop up ngl) and it felt like AA mixed with church camp. It was very obvious that these people at this meeting were very atomized, hurting and desperate but were ultimately told that the solution is local electoralism.
On one hand, I guess it’s a super awesome way to get people to touch grass in this capitalist hell hole we’re all in and get to know community members. On the other, the end goal is liberalism.
I don’t want to say it was a cult or anything because there was a clear way to opt out, but as soon as people started to mingle and form bonds or something, they were immediately shut down to move forward with a very pointless agenda which helps no one.
Was thinking about this last night. I have friends who I really don’t know anything about on an emotional level because I’ve drilled into my head it’s a conversation meant to be shared in therapy. But there’s also a part of me that sees the value in getting to know people as humans and not just their 9-5 selves. I have fem-presenting friends who seem to be more open to these types of conversations, but I genuinely want to find the line between sharing and over sharing. As a man, It’s pretty depressing to think about tbh, knowing other men for decades but not really knowing anything about them besides their favorite teams or beer.
Is this a thing that’s exclusive to males? Also, if you have any good literature recommendations for this topic please drop below 😅
