Why doesn’t Trump just drop out since he was only in the race to challenge Biden? Then the Democrats will have to rebuild their election strategy. Seems like a pretty obvious course of action unless you are complete narcissist who is fine taking down their party with them.
This just highlights how well thought out the timing of Biden's statement was.
I don't know when he made his decision, but it was probably weeks ago. He pretended he was still going to be running so that the GOP spent their entire convention attacking him. Once the convention was over, he waited until just after the Sunday politics talk shows were done, and then made his announcement.
Now they get weeks to build up excitement for the Democratic convention while the Republican news cycle is over.
(P.S. as further evidence this wasn't just a spur of the moment decision, look at all the prominent democrats now coming out in support of Harris. I don't think that just happens. I think that only happens after some back-room negotiations. I think these negotiations were done, their support for Harris was locked in, and then they went quiet until the time of the announcement. The democratic party is famous for having its fights out in the open. But, other than Manchin, I can't think of any Democrats (or sorta-kinda-democrats in his case) who even whispered about challenging her.)
Lol Trump and the GOP always said he was too old and shouldn't run, so he drops out and now they're mad about it. The GOP is both infuriating and hilarious at the same time.
Dumb fucking sheep magas don't even see this as petulant baby diaper shitting... If you really had a StRoNg MaN presidential candidate then he'd have said "Obama, Kamala, Hillary, Biden, who cares? I'll beat anyone you throw at me!"
But that's not who Trump is so we get: "Wahhhhh Wahhhhh Wahhhhh Wahhhhh!" And his followers go "yeah! Wahhh! It's really bad! Wahhh wahhh! We're tough! Wahhh get my gun I need to feel like a man!"
I mean, the republican advertising campaign doesn't /have/ to smear campaign the democratic candidates. They could, you know, actually advertise what their side is bringing to the table.
That being said i feel the same way with the democratic party, it's why I hate US politics, it's always "vote for me because the other side is the antichrist" or some stupid thing, never focusing on what they are going to do, just what the other person might do.
I feel like this proves the point that he really isn't trying to promote his own politics. His followers answers to condescending speech about the opponent, so now that the opponent was replaced, his work has been undone.
