If you eat chicken salt, do you prefer Mitani, Nice N' Tasty, or another brand?
I've been a Nice N Tasty fan for as long as I've eaten chicken salt at home, but having a poke around here, it seems to be quite a controversial topic.
If you eat chicken salt - do you prefer Mitani brand (looks like this), or Nice N Tasty (looks like this)? Or do you prefer another brand?
We all know fish and chip shops have the best chicken salt, so let's restrict this to normal stuff you can buy in personal quantities (not more than 1kg) at a regular supermarket (although I'll accept non business focussed shops, such as corner or Asian stores too)

Nice n tasty. We had a family chicken shop business when I was younger. The nice n tasty is closest to what we used back then.

Mitani is South Australian owned and made so I buy that. It tastes good enough to have never bothered trying a non-local alternative.

Yeah apparently, though I'm not sure if that really matters beyond bragging rights.
I'm using Nice n Tasty at the moment and I find it lacking in flavour. I prefer Masterfoods or to make my own.
There's no good or bad chicken salt. It just comes down to personal taste I think.
I've only had nice N tasty, and I think Coles brand as well. I'm curious about Mitani, AFAIK they are the original.
One of my old roomates always used Mitani but he ran out one night so I offered him some of mine and he said he much preferred the nice N tasty and bought some the next day. But his container looked like it was about 5 years old, so maybe by the time he finished it, the moisture had fucked up the taste or the taste had degraded or something.
The best is obviously the shit they have at fish and chippies, they have to put crack in it, but for the stuff that you can buy at home, I think NNT wins

Mitani chicken salt clumps up after a few years. Turns into this ball you have to shake the fuck out of to get some salt lol
I've had both of those brands at various points in time. No loyalty to a particular brand, here. The current chicken salt in the pantry is this one:
Actually I've tried that one too. That's my last favourite. I'd rather normal salt than that one
It sounds like a blind taste test is in order. Maybe I'm easy to please, because I don't think I could tell the difference between any of the brands.
Which is probably why I have no loyalty to a particular brand.
I use Mitani. I'd try Edyln if it wasn't so expensive in commercial quantities.
The Coles brand looked to have a large percentage of flour and sugar, aka cheap filler.
I just take it as it comes. If the restaurant offers chicken salt, I always say yes. I don't inquire where they source it.
