In an exclusive interview, Vivian Jenna Wilson said her father’s recent statements, including that she is “not a girl,” inspired her to speak out: “I’m not just gonna let that slide.”
Vivian Jenna Wilson, the transgender daughter of Elon Musk, said Thursday in her first interview that he was an absent father who was cruel to her as a child for being queer and feminine.
Wilson, 20, in an exclusive interview with NBC News, responded to comments Musk made Monday about her and her transgender identity. On social media and in an interview posted online, Musk said she was “not a girl” and was figuratively “dead,” and he alleged that he had been “tricked” into authorizing trans-related medical treatment for her when she was 16.
Wilson said that Musk hadn’t been tricked and that, after initially having hesitated, he knew what he was doing when he agreed to her treatment, which required consent from her parents.
Musk’s recent statements crossed a line, she said.
“I think he was under the assumption that I wasn’t going to say anything and I would just let this go unchallenged,” Wilson said in a phone interview. “Which I’m not going to do, because if you’re going to lie about me, like, blatantly to an audience of millions, I’m not just gonna let that slide.”
Yeah for a guy who's so fucking pedantic he's literally asked for the definition of the word "do" in response to a question he seems totally fine with the word "woke" being used for whatever.
I feel for her so much. Imagine how this feels to have a father like that, who spits on everything you are and then brags about it to millions of people.
She is obviously not a public person and still he drags her and his personal hatred into the public eye of millions.
Wilson said that, when she was a child, Musk would harass her for exhibiting feminine traits and pressure her to appear more masculine, including by pushing her to deepen her voice as early as elementary school.
“I was in fourth grade. We went on this road trip that I didn’t know was actually just an advertisement for one of the cars — I don’t remember which one — and he was constantly yelling at me viciously because my voice was too high,” she said. “It was cruel.”
What a colossal piece of shit.
Also, she is really beautiful. She clearly got her mom's half of the physical appearance genes.
Hair is tricky, but she has a few things working for her. Musk clearly has male pattern baldness, but that is typically carried on the X chromosome, so you get it from your mom instead of your dad. Testosterone is also a major contributor to hair loss, so HRT will really help with any hair lose in the future as well.
It's kinda crazy, for me he went from being entrepreneurial genius, to eccentric genius, to genius but weird, to maybe not a genius but an acumen for business and kind of a dick, to temperamental child with petty grievances against the world, and after the headlines the last couple of weeks, an absolute loser piece of shit that is not worth the air that he breathes.
I mean, he's always been that last one... It was all the way back in 2019 that he failed to help those kids trapped in that cave, and his ego was so huge and his moral compass so lacking that he lashed out at one of the actual heroes and baslessly called him a "pedo".
Didn’t he say he flipped because of some regulatory ruling? I vaguely remember him making public statement about never voting D again as though he’d vocally supported anything liberal or progressive at all before that.
Put into the court record when she didn't have to say so to fulfill any legal requirement. She just hates her father, one of the richest men in the world, so much that she wanted a permanent legal record of her disowning him.
She could have just waited around until he died and hoped she got some inheritance, but she hates him that much. That shows what an absolute monster of a father he was.
They most certainly do - and appear to have always been. Look at the Hijra or another similar group. Do you really think that of all the billions and billions of humans that have been made that nothing has ever gone slightly differently than usual at around week 9 of pregnancy when biological sex begins to be determined? Really? If you can be born missing a limb or fused to your twin it’s not a stretch of imagination to realise it could be possible to land somewhere in the middle of the two established biological sexes.
So do you want your pronouns to be was/were or... any other prefernces that denote existing in the past tense, cause the Joshua trees are hungry and I want to play with a woodchiper.
Vivian seems like a lovely young lady, and I hate that she has to put up with such blatant disrespect from her own father. How one man could be so cruel, so uncaring to his own flesh-and-blood is beyond me.
When Wrabel sings about there being something wrong in the village, this is what's wrong in the village. Elon Musk and the hateful, ignorant, small-mined people just like him.
If this story wasn't about a billionaire narcissist it would have a different tone.
A father has trouble accepting their child has a wildly different life path then they had anticipated, and while they still can't accept it they did endorse medical interventions their child needed when push came to shove.
There are some redeemable qualities displayed here, even though the father is still bitter they didn't stand in the way.
You're right, he didn't stand in the way, he's just going out in public saying horrible things about his own child, and trying to help pass laws that will kill them along with thousands of others.
He's had four years to come around and he hasn't yet. Because he's a bigot. There is nothing redeemable here. He didn't endorse the gender-affirming care, he signed the papers to get her to go away.
But more importantly, he is insulting his daughter and lying about her on an international platform.
There is no scenario where this is an acceptable way to talk about your child. Not to Jordan Peterson on Twitter and also not to your next-door neighbor.
I'm not saying he is a "good" father, but I like to look for the good in people. And while he may be a piece of s***, he is a piece of s*** who did the right thing when called upon when it actually mattered.
Whatever he did when she was 16, he's clearly making all trans people less safe when their life expectancy is already slashed by the social stigma they face.
