I remember watching a documentary on him and they had a montage of interviews where there was one environmental activist being like "He was right about all the stuff but he shouldn't have bombed people."
Which stuck with me for being very funny given that the manifesto is in service of justifying bombing people.

It's pretty common for right wing nerds to use the unibomber manifesto as their one single, token piece of "leftist" theory they've engaged with so they can pull the old "unlike you I can read books I disagree with

Kazinsky's manifesto is ecofascist even though Kazinsky himself denies it. He does not come up with an actual political argument that isn't the same argument as ecofascism. Kazinsky however believes that fascism requires a core tenant of ethnocentrism or racism which in practice is plainly false. Many people try to rehabilitate Kazinsky but he essentially ignores squaring the circle of how society builds assistive technology that's required for the livelihood of many people.
Kazinsky is one of the OG's of being an American guy who schitzophrenically believes 600 different extreme things, this is why people need to read Anti-Oedipus even though it's hard. The problem of classifying Kazinsky literally "clicked" for me immediately after I read about deterritorialization and reterritorialization.
