As posted in a different thread:
I don’t care if it’s cloture or the actual bill itself…
There should be zero Dems voting “yes” on any-fucking-thing these MAGAt bastards want.
Blatant and complete obstruction is the only way to play this hand for the foreseeable future.
Those Dems that do vote yes… 🖕 🖕 🖕 🖕 🖕
Fetterman was a given, since he's been cozying up with the GOP as of late
Well no, when MAGA wants something that’s actually good, there’s no reason to oppose it.
The Republican leadership just instructed the DOJ to put LGBTQ+ activist groups on a fuckin' watch-list like they're goddamn terrorists (and they're gonna fuckin' do it). The Trump Administration is doing everything possible to break the US Constitution when it comes to the freedom of expression, the freedom of and from religion, the Presidential Term Limit, and birthright citizenship which regardless how you personally feel about it is baked into the US Constitution.
So why don't you tell me what they're doing that you find so goddamn appealing. Because I just don't get it. Maybe I'm too fucking stupid, but I just don't see it.
And just when do you truly think any MAGAt will propose something "good"....???
Don't be daft.
🙄
Anything I would have to say would get me permanently banned from the site for advocating violence.
Remember, as Napoleon Bonaparte said to Wellesley, Duke of Wellington, "Violence never solved anything."
controlled opposition within controlled opposition. Aka rotating villains.
The shutdown will still happen...
This does away with the habitual earmarking of funds, and instead just puts things in a handful of piles.
So they can just not fund parts of the government that they don't like, and give everything to shit like ICE. CBP, or fucking Teslas.
They didn't avert a shutdown so much as freely give away what power they had.
Democratic Sens. Richard Durbin (Ill.), Catherine Cortez Masto (Nev.), John Fetterman (D-Pa.), Kirsten Gillibrand (N.Y.), Maggie Hassan (N.H.), Gary Peters (Mich.), Jeanne Shaheen (N.H.) and Brian Schatz (Hawaii) (Nev.) all voted "yes" in addition to Schumer, — as did Maine's Angus King, an Independent who caucuses with Democrats.
Did they even ask for anything? Not that they would have gotten it, I just bet they didn't even ask for anything
No, they didn’t.
They weren’t even invited to any meeting to ask for anything.
“Who else are you gonna vote for” - ten democrats, probably
Some of them are not up for reelection for many years. They might be banking on most people forgetting about this, and they may be right.
Schumer did manage to get GOP leadership to agree to hold a vote to ensure that the D.C.'s budget did not suffer a $1 billion cut. The House's bill was written to include the budget reduction, sparking concern.
Big GOP win.
Big
GOPcorporate sex worker win.
That's an insult to sex workers.
Chuck Schumer is the biggest coward on either side of the Mississippi
Isn't he the cousin of Amy Schumer who stole jokes, looks like something runs in the family
Unfortunately 9 Democrats followed him…
Well I expect to hear some real bullshit in my response telling Brian Schatz to publicly fight Chuck Schumer (because I assumed he wasn't on the "leave the House out to dry nonsense). He's usually a passable senator, but he's been more disappointing lately and I'm general he doesn't really have the fortitude to actually lead on anything.
The one time he actually sticks his neck out and it's just to be a lapdog for an unpopular decision by leadership.
