Well, unlike my plan to return to Dragon Quest XI, I wanted to play another action game, so started Nioh. The game is even more difficult than Demon's Souls, but I am really enjoying it.
What about all of you? What have you been playing?
Link's Awakening is really great. I have never played the original but had lots of fun when playing the remake. And Metroid Dread is even better. One of the most polished game I had played in a while.
This game doesn't look that it could make anyone laugh... One of the reason I still haven't played it is because it looks too bleak and depressing, and I haven't been able to get myself in the mindset to play such a game.
The writing and dialog choices can be really funny at times, but yes the backdrop of the game is very bleak and cold. I had to wait till I was in a good place before I tried it.
Mario Wonder. Only the special world left and some big purple coins that I am not sure I'll do them for now. Besides that I'll play some Pokémon Scarlet as a raid with Typholsion, one my favourite Pokémon, is up. Might boot up splatoon 3 here and there. Using it as a break kinda.
I will probably not start anything big anytime soon as I do not have that much free time between my studies and work. The next game I would like to try is the Mario RPG remake but I won't buy it on release.
The plan was to continue Witch on the Holy Night, but I was extremely tired after the long trips I mentioned last week, and had a ton of things going on at work so I could not find the energy for it.
I did however play a little bit of Radiant Silvergun, been trying to get to the end even if only on Very Easy. Rotating between Arcade and Story modes. not sure which one I'll be able to finish first.
Really enjoying it. It's VERY different from Bayonetta, (I have only played 1,) but still good. Tbh with how hypersexualized Bayonetta is, that was a worry going into a game featuring the same character as a tween.
The Brothers A Tale of siblings movement with the painterly art style and fairy tale vibes are all really good. Cereza and Cheshire work well as characters.
Dunno if it's woth the Nintendo tax, but I got it a lot cheaper on ebay. Worth it then.
Final Fantasy 6. I've played five other Final Fantasy games for the first time over the last 18 months (7, Crisis Core Reunion, 3, 4, 5), but this will be my last one for awhile. I need a break from random battles!
I am not a fan of random battles, and that is one of the biggest reason I skip the older games now, (second is the amount of grind some of those games require). What is your favourite Final Fantasy yet?
From this list it would be Final Fantasy 5, because of its similarities to the Final Fantasy Tactics games, which I adore. I really loved 5. Final Fantasy 7 is probably the better overall game from the perspective of ambitious goals versus what it achieved, but I had a lot more fun with 5.
I still haven't played any mainline Final Fantasy game after 7 (except for a few hours of 8), but with all the various sequels I'll get to 16 eventually! Well, it'll probably be 17 at this rate.
Alright, weekly Baten Kaitos update. I left the final dungeon right after the penultimate boss became the true final boss because there's a single unique card that was awkwardly placed in between them and I wanted it now. With it, I now have all weapon, armor and photo cards, which required having a guide nearby for the missables. So now I'm grinding out SP Combos, which isn't hard, but takes patience. Especially because the list isn't ordered in a logical way! Some recipes require cards you get from combos much further down the list, so I have to jump around a lot. And then there's the combos that require cards that have aged to a certain point, but not too far, so I had to buy some grapes and wait for them to rot and become wine in six hours before I can do the combo that needs them. It would have been easier to do them throughout the game, but there's ~140 of them and none of them just happen naturally. I would have had to spend a lot of time researching when to do all of them before I could even start playing the game. But it's not like I'm pressed for time, the shampoo is still sitting there, waiting to age...
Today, I beat the last regular world of Mario Bros. Wonder. I'm backtracking to all the Special World locations before continuing though.
Completing Baten Kaitos is something I was never able to do when I tried back on the Gamecube and it got to the point where I didn't even enjoy the game anymore. But with the HD Remaster and the New Game+ option, I knew that even if I miss something, it wouldn't be the end of my entire save file. I ended up not needing it, but it removed the stress.
Wonder isn't quite beaten yet, but I also have no plans to start anything fancy, especially on the PC side. This is the month I plan on replacing my PC from 2016 in its entirety, so I'll have to focus on that first.
on my third run of Disco Elysium on the Switch, keeping busy with the first Baldur's Gate on PC while waiting to have a good internet connection back so that me and my partner can play Super Mario Wonder together
