Yes. Kansas City has had a lot of gun violence. Less in recent years I believe, but it is pretty bad. Missouri laws/beliefs are kind of a cross between the South and deranged libertarians for the most part.
As soon as you are 18 you can walk into any Walmart and get a rifle iirc, and it is shockingly ezpz to buy guns off the internet and have them shipped here. You have to ship it to a dealer who has an FFL, but still. Someone with an FFL can be just some guy.
KC is alright, especially compared to the rural areas, but everyone is packing. It's very common to know someone who has been shot.
Also maybe less grim but unclear from my post i think, Truman Hospital is an adult hospital, that's where the specialists are. Everyone knows to go there if you wanna survive a gunshot wound
