Stellaris' players almost universally complain that rival nations don't concede during wars if you defeat their fleets and space stations, but don't take any planets and don't knock out their allies. Its comical that people are upset that imperialism does work how they wished it worked, and instead operates somewhat realistically where nations don't concede just because you knock out their militarized space navy. They fight to the dirty end on the ground, especially if they have friends back them up.

I think the biggest weakest of even the best horror games is often length. Alien Isolation is amazing and nails the tone, but is far too long. Horror games have a tendency to wear out their welcome and become tedious.

farmers will rotate crops because they leech and release different nutrients from/into the soil. its common to follow up certain crops with beans because they release nitrogen or something into the soil. i'm sure someone else has a better understanding of how it works.

I think the UK is a little different than where America is heading because their colony inherited all their power. You could easily view America as an extension of the British Empire. I wouldn't be surprised if its seen that way in the long view of history. I don't think China is going to be quite as chummy and enabling of America as is, the way the Americans were with the British.
