In today's livestream - Joe Jackass the Junior Republican Senator from Alabama will fight in a match of honor against Doug Douchebaggery the Senior Democratic Senator from California. I apologize in advance for the handle - the contest was chosen by poopmachine69. poopmachine69's choice and comment are "I wanna see them fight hand-to-hand to the death. Effing yeah. Effing yeah. You just said 'Effing yeah. Effing yeah.' That's stupid. I can chose the method of death but in my own voice I can't say the f word in it's natural, righteous form? That's lame!"
Wasn’t the main conversation about why he would do that over someone who clearly didn’t care about him (anymore)? I honestly don’t remember anyone actually blaming Jada.
I couldn't stand all the hand-wringing "conversations" crackers were having about something so trivial and definitely not their biz. At best that shit was benevolent racism. I was a redditor back in those days and had to lurk in /r/blackpeopletwitter (the only sub without slaptakes) to maintain my sanity. That couple of weeks or so really opened my eyes at how pervasive that kinda of racism is and started me on the path to find a new site to spend my time on.
If it had been staged, someone would have leaked that by now.
Some of the writers for that year were on a podcast I listened to a couple months after it happened, and it sure sounded like they were all genuinely shocked. I listen to a lot of Hollywood-adjacent shows, and though I've heard people who were there or watching live say that they at first thought it might have been staged because it was so surreal, I haven't heard a single person even hint that it was actually staged. Every time it comes up, it's some variation on "holy shit, can you believe that happened?!?" or a joke about keeping someone's partner's name out of your mouth.
There's too much Internet clout to be had from being the person who spills those beans, and though the scientologists have a lot of power, I can't believe they could keep this stupid and inconsequential a secret this quiet for this long.
I'm still of the mind that if you insult someone's partner so publicly and viscously, you deserve to get slapped. I'd like to think that, if I was Will Smith, I'd just go home and play video games. But if someone here says some evil stuff about Dirt_Owl's partner and they give them a slap, I'm not going to pretend to be too good for that minor violence.
