I don't want you all to end up in Gitmo. Even if I don't always agree with your guys takes, there's already so few communists and anarchists in the West as is =(
We'll need organizers and teachers of history and theory to survive the next couple years.
Yeah I dunno. The new freenet seems promising for ease of use and integration with federation but idk how they do with privacy. Veilid seems to have the reverse problem. I’m sure there’s a solution but we should have a real discussion on what that is.
The new one is under development and looks interesting, but this really isn’t the place to get into it. If someone else doesn’t I’ll make a post in the next few days.
I kind of wish people just talked more on the already existing Matrix server. But like any service thats easy enough for everyone to get onto is gonna be compromised. Just maybe to a lesser extent since stuff like Matrix hides more.
I am trying to load the server on Element. Was looking at the info from the sidebar about how to join. But I am missing something I think. It says that if I am using my account from the default matrix server that I need an email. But it doesn't say where I need to use that in order to find the server to join. I can manage to search and find individual rooms, but not like a main way to have the server itself with the subrooms show up. Do you happen to know what I might be missing?
To be honest, I don't. I just made an account directly on their instance. I think if your account is from somewhere else, you can't view the list of rooms sort of like you can't browse local on hexbear from Lemmy.ml. So being able to join the rooms individually sounds right to me?
Meh, if roundups came I'd have been on the list we'll before hexbear existed. I've got a police record and for sure a file in numerous bureaus, cause it doesn't take much at all to be in one. If you're worried about your posting getting you in trouble, you aren't doing enough irl
the delete account button on your settings page should wipe all your content. Its fun to have a handle and be well known, but for opsec its better to rotate accounts, that history is never fully gone, someone probably archived it
