That reminds me of how the US tried to censor the lesbian relationship in Sailor Moon by making them cousins. I'll let you imagine how that worked out.
When I was young watching it, I thought they were aliens or something with pink blood, took me half the show to realize it was a form of censorship of blood
I always wondered if that was simply a style choice or if it actually meant something, like psychological damage, because there are a couple scenes that stand out because the blood shown is regular color.
iirc it was mostly due to censorship, but it helped with the game's aesthetic. In the scenes where blood is red it's usually because it's old or dried blood.
Zom 100 did multi colored splatters and I think that was much more fun and not cum looking than this. Also very weird thing to censor, like does it being red vs white seriously change anything?
"Correct" is a strong word, it works for their show because you're seeing it through the protagonist's eyes who is absolutely loving the situation when compared to his dull office job. The colorful aesthetic there serves as part of the storytelling. However, choosing to just not make blood look like blood for everything only serves to undermine the violence shown. People talk about the dangers of becoming decensitized to violence through media, but imagine if media doesn't even show to grousom results of said violence what that could do to people's perception of it in real life.
