The Proud Boys Are Plotting a Comeback. And They Want Revenge

  • The pardons are definitely going to embolden the Freikorps to do more riots and more murders. Trump just demonstrated that if you act in his name you can get pardoned for it.

But like, Trump doesn't actually give a shit about them. I doubt he's actually going to pardon them if they get themselves arrested again unless it's really popular.

    So, mixed bag I guess.

    • If my understanding of Trump is correct, I believe he 100% would pardon someone for doing some illegal act in his name, so long as it's not against one of his allies or maybe even against anyone in the ruling class.

He doesn't give a shit about the person themselves, but he cares about his image and "looking strong". He is playing into the aesthetics of fascism, while not really understanding what fascism is (e.g. interlinked with capitalism)

    • He already pardoned the proud boy leadership that was in prison for their January 6 roles

I figured he wouldn't do it because he thinks they're losers for failing their January 6 objective but here we are

      • They'd have to do something really spectacular to even get his attention, something on the level of storming the capitol.

I have a feeling they'll start small and he'll just totally ignore them.

    • I doubt he's actually going to pardon them if they get themselves arrested again

Why? It seems extremely likely he'd do exactly that, imo.

  • Intelligence is not necessary for success of these orgs, persistence in doing recruitment related work is. Everyone says they want to grow an org but very few people actually step up and do the work needed to do it, orgs live and die by the members responsible for their growth leaving them. Identifying those individuals and effectively removing them from orgs is the same as killing an org in the longterm.

  • man who just got out of prison and leads anti-state militia's brilliant plan for revenge on his jailers? the superior and overwhelming violence of the state. genius.
