  • There's a couple of projects happening near my train station so the carparks are filled with trades. Had to park a bit further than usual and missed my regular train by like a minute.

I don't know these new train people. They're not my regulars!!!

Spent the entire ride judging them so hard.

    6:30 Train people for ever!!!!

6:37 Train people might as well be sewer mutants!

  • Belated thanks to our local Witch for the motivation brew. It's taken a while to kick in for me as it usually is, but here I am finally sat in the uni library with a blank Word document open! And a tab open to ChatGPT where I'm about to explain what my project is about and to please help break me out of my stupid block to just start writing.

Edit: who knew that just having ChatGPT just open and trying to draft up a question on how to structure one section would do the job - ended up smashing out dot points for the intro and aims in one hour. Now onto the method section (should be easiest to fill out) and then sketching out the results section to discuss with supervisor tomorrow.

    • Oh that's awesome! It's so painful when you just can't concentrate on THE THING. Once you find that trick that lets you lock in and focus its all go. Hope its a downhill run now

      • Gosh yes that wall of inertia might as well be the entire Himalayan range for how seemingly endless and insurmountable it is. As always, time pressure (meeting with supervisor tomorrow) really, really helps...

I've also had a second coffee today which is 99% of the time a bad idea but it's helped me push on - I've accepted I will be periodically frying my nervous system for the next several weeks to get this goddamn thing finished.

At least I've picked up a whole lot of ready to eat food today so I can not think about cooking for a while! I do need to cook this salmon I bought on Sat evening though...

  • It appears it's been long enough since I used a meal delivery service that I'm eligible for the free boxes again. I've ordered a few to make it a bit easier to juggle packing etc. over the next few weeks. Then when I've moved I'll have a shiny new address and should be eligible for more free boxes there. This will soothe the aggravation I felt after paying for a box and then receiving coupons for free boxes to give to everyone else.

  • I'm all set up for getting in the house to be on hard mode again tonight - a few pieces of furniture, a floor lamp and a dog door insert are all waiting for me. I think it will mostly need to be carried straight back out the van so I can take it up to Ballarat, I don't really have room in the house.

  • Today I am reading Iss. 128 of Philosophy Now , an issue dedicated to all the philosophical, moral and societal questions discussed and raised in the novel and movies Frankenstein. ๐Ÿง๐ŸงŸโ€โ™€๏ธ๐ŸงŸ

  • Coming home on the train. The stops and places didn't worry me, I did get a little start when a darkish bloke with a black hoodie, tee and black backpack got on.

I'll be ok. It was just a bloke

    • tall, dark hair, dark beard, a Mediterranean complexion , indeed, because it was a bloke that looked like that committed an act of extremist xian motivated terrorism when I was on the train on Saturday. That's the description I gave police, as well as another witness.

      look up my post history

it was just a bloke, that one bad individual who did it , many men wear black and have black backpacks, there is no need to worry

      • We do tend to prioritise past experience over objective assessment. Understandable that this should have disturbed you. Kudos to you for applying rational assessment. Can take some time to make this stick though, so don't be surprised if these feelings happen again. Breathe deeply.
