'non-profit' is like a magic word for them. i was trying an angle with hospitals and health insurance companies being non-profits not too long ago, you'd think pointing out the most parasitical price gouging orgs in the country can technically be "non-profit" would demystify the word a bit
People don't understand that "non-profit" is just another tool for optimizing capital flow
The charity is just a justification for the ways it can be used, and all the restrictions can be circumvented if you have enough capital for the actual intended use
