"The bottom line is this: The Appointments Clause is a critical constitutional restriction stemming from the separation of powers, and it gives to Congress a considered role in determining the propriety of vesting appointment power for inferior officers," wrote Cannon, who was appointed to the bench by Trump.
This case legit feels like a trial balloon to see what they can get away with. Even compared to the Supreme Court, Cannon is taking some fucking wild swings with her rulings.
Her reasoning on this might as well be officially documented as "cus I fucking said so, nerd"
If Trump is an existential threat to democracy and minority groups, maybe betting on stopping him through procedure amidst the courts he himself rigged is a stupid and short sighted plan.
Before it was Smith it was Garland, before it was Garland it was Meuller, before it was Meuller it was Comey (that one was extra hilarious how bad it backfired)
Dems are coming up on a decade of their entire oppositional plan being "hope a lifelong republican meber of a three letter aganecy does the heavy lifting to take down a republican president"
So glad they made garland head of doj. Really great job Biden putting in the federalist adjacent guy who only ever came up because Obama didn't fight to get an actual Supreme Court justice in before he left office
That is kind of like the hush money case, or as many people are calling it, the trump rule 34 case. Democrats keep saying that case ruled that Trump was guilty of 34 felony charges. The sentencing on that hush money case was delayed until mid-September. It's possible that he never gets any punishment, though I think the recent presidential immunity supreme court ruling doesn't protect him here because it was a crime committed during his campaign.
The case that was thrown out today is the one where he hid documents around his estate and refused to give them back when asked by the feds.
Does the joker ever tell batman the deaths are his fault? That he could have stopped them but by returning him to the same broken system he is allowing him to keep going? I am starting to feel like I need that comic panel as a reaction image
I OD'd on copium like a cop touching fentanyl just by opening that thread. The funny part is, every time there's a thread about BlueMaga, they're all like "we aren't a cult! We don't make up weird conspiracy theories!"
