it makes me sad. the people yearn for a new arena shooter but esports ready slop is what we're getting. it doesn't look fun at all and in terms of stuff like movement mechanics it's a clear devolution from team fortress and dumbing down of those things ala overwatch.
I'd hate the concept less if it wasn't forced into so many franchises and genres in ways that take away from those genres in attempts to cash in. There was a cool Heavy Gear mecha game concept that seemed promising until it tripped over itself trying to be esports trash some years back, for example, and Planetside 2 wasted years of development time trying to pander to esports shit that went nowhere and wasted an entire map of developer time that no one else could use or even see.
I have never fully understood the appeal of a convoluted and bloated metagame within a game (that basically killed off the RTS genre that spawned it) that has its own specific and rigid rules and expected way for each match to play out in a way that causes excruciatingly long death spirals for the losing team that have to be played through each and every time and the consequent rage and toxicity that encourages in its playerbase... and why I'd voluntarily want to play or even watch that.
On literally my first game of this someone kept calling everyone the r slur for being bad at the game. It's not even released yet. How can anyone be good yet.
First and foremost that keeps me far away from MOBA anything. Something about the format is like a rage magnet, and with that it also pulls in all sorts of bigotry, too.
I suppose I'll just take your word from it. I'm an outside observer that had associates that more or less horrified me with how "fun" the toxic hate vomit they were swimming around during ranked matches was to them.
Overprime died and predecessor is not long for this world. Interestingly, neither major reboot had the content of the final state of Paragon Global, and started from about six months of updates before closure of original paragon. They both reworked decks in a way I didn't really enjoy personally anyway
I really like the game. Valve are doing some interesting things (rail system, movement in general) and I think it's generally just fun. There are some aesthetic things that need attention with the map and UI, but otherwise I'm optimistic
I don't dislike the idea, moba third person is cool but Smite's company kinda sucks. What I didn't like about the game is how much I feel like I'm playing dota 2 and I really don't like dota 2, my little brain can only comprehend league of legends.
it technically is, just once you have an invite you can invite your whole friends list lol. awoo invited a bunch of people here. do you want an invite to try?
I actually enjoyed Artifact, even made ~10 bux in steam wallet net from selling the included pack pulls on market day 0 and playing pauper exclusively until f2p.
