How many of you would watch this?
How many of you would watch this?
How many of you would watch this?
Everyone else in the real world is human, everything else in the fantasy world is muppets.
Except Tim Curry.
It’d be a great skit, but the gag would get old pretty quick for anything full-length.
Do you're saying we'd only get seven or eight seasons of it ?
It'd get old by the end of the skit.
I mean that kinda goes for every muppet movie.....I'd still watch it
If you're okay with them not being muppets, check out Dorkness Rising. Once they start playing, about 15 minutes in, the action bounces back between the players and the characters. It's old but still works.
Dorkness Rising is their second movie, and it makes a lot of references and throwbacks to the first.
I for sure would. Ryan Reynolds as a Bard being played by Gonzo.
Gonzo is DM.
Fozzie = wise cracking Bard
Miss Piggy = Half-Oink Barbarian
Kermit = Elven Ranger
Animal = Wild magic Sorcerer
Rolf Sam the Eagle = paladin
Rolf = Druid
Dr. Teeth: BBEG, trying to rule the realm with Electric Mayhem
Dr. Teeth: BBEG, trying to rule the realm with Electric Mayhem
But Animal is their drummer.
Rizzo is obviously the rogue.
And Swedish Chef the local barkeep
I like Rolf, but i think Sam the Eagle would be better a better choice as an uptight paladin.
I think you're trying to align the Muppets to what their personalities would be. Instead pick against type. Or as their off type. Gonzo has been the narrator in almost all the muppet versions of movies. So he'd be great at telling stories and winning over NPCs as a Bard.
Omfg yessss!
there is nothing that cannot be improved by the addition of muppets
I think I'd pass on Muppet Schindler's List.
Porn
Edit: people think porn could be improved by adding Muppets?
Exhibit A: The sex scene in Team America
Oh how quickly history forgets the horrors of the past...
Have you witnessed the glory of Pterodactyl Porn? (Don't look up Attack of the Flying Lizard if you have any taste or morals.)
Let my puppets come ...was an "adult" movie made with puppets
Unfamiliar with Peter Jackson's pre LOTR work?
You think it wouldn't? I'm not saying it's be more arousing, but it damn sure would improve it.
There is a certain adult Muppet detective movie with some pretty erm... graphic scenes
Edit: I totally fucked up this comment. Please disregard. I'm tired. It's been a long day. I just need sleep. Good night everyone, and I wish you all the best for tomorrow ❤️
furries
it makes sense if you don't think about it for too long, or think about it really hard
So kind of like Drunk History but with muppet dialogue instead of slurred speech?
If so, I'm sold.
Watch it? Hell, I'd crowdfund it if it wasn't for the fact that Muppets are a Disney property. The House of the Mouse has more than enough cash to make this work.
FWIW, this format would work with a bunch of awkward teens at the game table.
You could also go the other way and re-release "Honor among Thieves" by constantly cutting away to the game table with hilarious die-rolls and the rest. Think: "Of Dice and Men", or "Dorkness Rising".
I would. Honestly.
Holy fuck this is GOLD!
Drunk history X muppets. There you go
It’s a yes from me. Hitting the golden button!
Maybe the first episode could be shot with the famous actors playing it up for the camera, and the rest of the campaign could be just a podcast with the Muppet voice actors and maybe slideshow illustrations for YouTube/Patreon?
I love the original idea, but there's no way that would be sustainable for the art least hour a week content I feel most podcast subscribers would expect.
Good lord this is brilliant !
This is brilliant ! I would watch it in a heartbeat.
ok but hear me out.
this but the muppet babies.
Nanny DM: Animal? Make me a wisdom roll...
Animal: Nat 20! Nat 20! Yayayaya!
Kermit: Erm, Animal? You, uh, rolled a D12...
Animal: Nat 20! Yayayaya!
Kermit: Good grief...
I could have swore this was an actual episode.
actually just found out they kinda did it on the 2018 version (though it was more like larping less d&d) -> sir kermit the brave
You might enjoy HarmonQuest! Bonus fun fact: the DM was originally just an audience member when Dan Harmon came up with the idea and asked for a DM, but is now a regular cast member.
Harmonquest ended 6 years ago. He isn’t a cast member. He was Dan’s assistant on Rickn Morty for a while
Sounds like Drunk History which I've always said would be better if it used muppets.
Isn't there already a muppet like dnd thing where one of the muppets has giant bazongers
Legit this is a fantastic idea
I would also watch the most recent D&D movie with scenes of the Muppets playing the game spliced into it.
I was thinking the same. This feels like an amazing fan edit waiting to happen.
This already exists but the other way around and the Muppets are The Rock and Jack Black.
Please let’s just let the rock’s career die
Oh hell yeah. Kermit as DM or Fozzie?
No. Honorary Muppet Tim Curry. Just being himself. The only person not being played by someone else, they're just themselves.
Even better. That way when The Big Bad(tm) comes up it can be Tim Curry!
I kinda like the idea of the players constantly antagonizing the DM. Kermit could pull it off but I think he needs to be a player hero to pull off the script.
My dark horse Muppet DM pick is Sam the Eagle
I was just saying they've tried already...they haven't made more so I don't think so
An entire movie with half being lip synced live action sounds awful to make. That's a lot of lip syncing.
But I'm sure there's a bunch of tools and talent out there that could make this happen. And it'd be a fantastic movie.
It doesn’t have to be lip synced well… that would be half the charm.
Having watched Kung Pow: Enter the Fist.... Yes.
That's fair.
Foreign dubs are basically whole movies lipsynced from start to finish and that happens all the time.
Also fair. but that actually opens up a whole bunch of opportunity. There could be so many easter eggs hidden in what the live action actors are actually saying, versus what the mupets are saying.
I would rather just have a good normal muppet movie and not a gimmic
I don't know how you are able to say that with a straight face.
Muppets Movie - Muppet Origin Story
Muppets Caper - Muppets but jewel heist
Muppets Take Manhattan - Muppets run a Musical
Muppets Christmas Carol - Really?
Muppets Treasure Island - Really?
Muppets From Space - REALLY?
The Muppets - The only 'normal' movie and it references all the nonsense from the previous ones
Muppets Most Wanted - Criminal muppets
Sir, every single Muppet movie has a freakin' gimmick.
I'd watch that. Maybe add another level of innuendo and add Jack Black and Dwayne Johnson to the cast.
You lost me at Jason Momoa, the faster that Douchbag is out of every movie the better
Not sure about acting, but I've not heard anything douchy about him personally
Got a reason for that? Or just don't like him?
There's no controversy segment in his wikipedia article.
There’s lots out there about him being a creep behind the scenes on GOT, him being a drunk asshole on aqua man, him treating staff like shit on Minecraft, i myself have a personal experience of him fucking over an entire con crowd. Lots of stories also about him being a dick to restaurant staff and using the “do you know who I am?” Line
We're gonna need some context for your reaction.
Long story but I went to a con once where he fucked over every fan who wanted to see him. Additionally there are stories out there of him being a complete “do you know who I am??” Style asshole to regular people and service workers out there. By all accounts he’s a dick, even the shit he used to do backstage on game of thrones is creepy as fuck and anyone who doesn’t look like him would have been canceled by now
Just recently there are news stories about him being an asshole to crew on the Minecraft set, being drunk on aqua man and acting like a jackass. He’s a roid monkey so it’s no surprise
